Chapter 418 Sabo's Sea
Chapter 418 Sabo's Sea
Sabo stood aside, watching his three brothers reunite and smiled softly. Luffy was comforting Lucci and Ace, which was really cute. He sometimes wondered if they had really just reunited in the past two days. Sabo had changed a lot in the past week.
A week ago, he had been in Baldigo, fresh from a mission, unaware of his past and unconcerned, and if someone had told Sabo then that he had three brothers and that he would do anything for them, he would have laughed at them, thinking they were mocking him, before hitting them on the head.
But now, he was here, Sabo smiled as he watched Ace and Lucci hug Luffy tightly, as if hugging their world, tears kept dripping from their faces onto Luffy, he would not give up this scene no matter what.
Sabo felt warm at the sight of Lucci's grinning mouth shape, Lucci would never ignore the feelings of any of his brothers, though Lucci brought some relief to his nervous mood.
But he was still nervous. They hadn't seen each other for seven years. Luffy had grown taller and stronger. He was no longer the skinny and fragile-looking little boy. Although he was still willful and reckless like a child, he had changed a lot.
He had changed a lot, too. His golden curly hair had grown longer, and his missing teeth had grown back. Fortunately, he still subconsciously remembered his handy water pipe weapon. No, now that he didn't have that weapon in his hand, would Luffy still recognize him? Even though he teased him like that, he was increasingly afraid that Luffy might not recognize him, and that his brother might not forgive him for not being with him. Even though Ace and Lucci had forgiven him, he didn't want his youngest brother to be angry with him the most.
Sabo allowed himself a grin. His brother still had the same quirk from ten years ago. Luffy was scrutinizing him, looking at his clothes, then at his face, staring intently into his eyes. Even though Sabo's heart was in his throat, constantly worrying whether his brother would not forgive him, he didn't dare show it on his face. He nervously waited for his brother's judgment until Luffy's tearful voice rang out, "Sa... Sabo!?"
"Hey, brother, it's been a while. I'm sorry I haven't been with you." Sabo said tentatively, observing Luffy's every move and carefully thinking of his words. Really? How could he just say that? You owe him too much. Luffy won't forgive him easily. When the guilt began to overwhelm him, Sabo closed his eyes and opened his mouth to say, "I'm sorry, I mean..."
"Sabo!" Luffy jumped out of Lucci and Ace's arms and threw himself into Sabo's arms, knocking him to the ground.
Sabo's eyes shot open to see his little brother hugging him tightly, tears streaming down his red cheeks, Sabo looked up at Ace and Lucci and met their eyes, Ace and Lucci were grinning at him, pure happiness in both of their eyes.
Sabo's arms trembled slightly as he hugged Luffy tightly. He closed his eyes, and a few tears fell from the corners of his eyes. The guilt he had always felt disappeared from his heart. He looked at Luffy who was hugging him tightly and crying. He should understand that his brother has never changed. He is still the Luffy who was a child. Whether he was 7 or 17 years old, he would not question him, blame him, or get angry with him. He knew clearly that this was the brother he would always protect, no matter the position, no matter the space, no matter the time, he must protect his good brother. "Thank you, Luffy."
Luffy moved his face away from Sabo's chest and looked into his eyes. Uncontrollable sobs continued to come out of his mouth, but he still choked and said to Sabo, "Sa...Sabo, I'm so glad you're still alive!"
"Thank you, Luffy, thank you for being alive!" Sabo reached out his trembling hand to Luffy's face and gently brushed away his hair. His voice was a little choked. Thinking of what might have happened to his brother who had been suppressed by him in the past two days, Sabo kept emerging in his mind. The images of Ace chained to the execution platform and Lucci trapped in Impel Down and being tortured flashed before his eyes. There was also Luffy lying in the poison, screaming heartbreakingly. These were nightmares that he could never face directly.
But now, with Luffy safely in his arms, and Lucci and Ace still grinning at him, he forced those images out of his mind. Sabo smiled gently at the two of them, stretched out an arm, and the next second he received a strong hug from his two brothers.
His brothers were still alive. Sabo closed his eyes and immersed himself in the embrace of his three most important brothers. This time, the smile on his face was very satisfied.
……
Thatch nudged Marco with his elbow, grinning as the four brothers embraced, then looked at him expectantly.
Marco ignored his unlovable brother. Of course he knew what his brother meant, but that was impossible. He would not hug a completely unlovable brother. Marco looked around. A few guys who had just delivered food from the restaurant did not leave, but secretly gathered at the door to peek. As a result, they all looked at the four brothers hugging in the infirmary with tears in their eyes. Some sentimental guys even started sobbing in front of them... These guys should restrain themselves!
But now that the child was awake, Marco walked closer, wanting to take a better look at him. After all, he had heard about him many times, but he had never actually seen him before. It was not a good time while the Straw Hat Boy was unconscious, not only because the three brothers were always watching over him, but also because he was a little absent-minded. After all, the boy was really seriously injured.
Although he had indeed seen him on wanted posters before, Ace had only held the posters up to show off in front of them, and when they actually tried to take a good look, Ace wouldn't stay still and would just flash them in front of them and then walk away, so they could only see blurry things. What was worse was that he only hoarded these posters in the room he and Lucci shared, so they had never actually seen his brother's face. He now had reason to suspect that Ace had done this on purpose.
Especially now, with the four boys separated, the Straw Hat kid was lying on Ace's back, talking to them. Whenever he tried to peek over Ace's shoulder, Ace would always turn slightly, blocking the Straw Hat kid's face, making their observation unclear. It was obvious that Thatch had noticed this, and just like him, he looked at Ace's profile with a look of confusion. What was going on? Was he doing this on purpose? Thatch's eyes shone with such obvious questions.
How should I know? Marco was a little annoyed. Ace's damn brother complex had blocked his work. Marco had the responsibility to understand everyone on the ship, especially when there was such a commotion. He needed to get enough information.
This kid was the captain of another pirate group after all, there was no way he was going to let him go around without knowing what he looked like. This had nothing to do with curiosity... not at all... maybe just a little bit, after all, all the crew members felt like they knew this kid, even if they had never seen him before, but he was genuinely curious and wanted to see who that adorable, troublesome, worrying, reckless idiot was.
