I'll take that magic stone with me in Chapter 141.
I'll take that magic stone with me in Chapter 141.
Late at night, we were all waiting for Headmaster Albus to arrive at the school hospital. Madam Pomfrey had already fallen asleep, but we woke her up so she could treat Harry and the others.
"Mrs. Pomfrey, is Ron alright?" Harry, whose minor wound I had already treated, inquired about Ron's condition from Mrs. Pomfrey.
"It's nothing serious, just a mild concussion. He'll wake up tomorrow." Mrs. Pomfrey gave Ron a little bit of sleeping pills and then left. She knew we had something to say.
“Severus, why don’t you go back first? It’s getting late.” I whispered to Severus. Harry and Hermione only just realized that I was calling Professor Snape by his title and stared at me with wide eyes.
"Then I'll leave them to you. I'm going back now." Severus didn't care about the two little giants; he had a lot of things to do. Since I said I could handle it, he trusted me completely.
"What kind of looks are those two giving me?" I watched Severus disappear like the wind, then turned around to see Harry and Hermione's incredulous expressions.
"Severus? Ayers, has that always been what you call Professor Snape?" Hermione wasn't as slow-witted as Harry and Ron; she seemed to understand the intricacies of the situation.
"Hmm." I looked at Hermione with a meaningful smile.
“Ayers, you’re really something.” Harry didn’t understand the deeper meaning; he just thought I had a lot of courage to call Snape that.
"It's good that you know, but don't tell anyone. I'll take you back now." I knew Severus wasn't going back to the cellar; he was going to report the situation to Professor McGonagall or Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. I didn't see that Professor Quirrell was also taken away by him.
After safely escorting Harry and Hermione back to the Gryffindor common room, I returned to my Slytherin bedroom. Hopefully, nothing else will happen tonight.
The next day, right after I finished class, Severus called me away, and we went together to Albus Dumbledore's office.
"The principal is really cautious. Does he even need to call me in to inquire about the situation?" He talked to Severus as they walked.
“He’s just that kind of suspicious person,” Severus said to me as he walked beside me.
“That’s true. I really want someone to come and take care of his people right now,” I said to Severus.
Severus didn't reply. He knew who I was talking about, but he didn't know how to answer.
"Mung bean cake." Severus uttered the code word leading to the principal's office, and I was speechless for a moment.
Has Dumbledore developed a taste for Eastern desserts and pastries? Mung bean cake?
When we arrived at the principal's office, everyone was already there. I think I've been to the principal's office a few times before.
No matter how I dress, it never changes. Is it that long-lasting?
"Long time no see, Ayers," Albus Dumbledore greeted me as if I were an old friend.
"Yes, it's been a long time, Headmaster Dumbledore." I wonder when Albus Dumbledore remembered my past identity? It seems I've met Dumbledore a few times during Riddle and Severus's time travels.
It seems like this is only the second time we've met during this period. We only met once before, when the bloodline acquisition caused a stir.
"Come, sit here and tell me what happened last night." Headmaster Dumbledore gestured for Severus and me to sit in the empty seats on the left side of the long table, opposite Harry and Hermione, and Professor McGonagall who had come over to hear what had happened.
It seems Professor Quirrell has been handed over to the Ministry of Magic for processing. Dumbledore is sitting at the head of the table, waiting for us to recount what happened last night.
“This should be left to Harry to explain. They were the ones who were involved the whole time. Severus and I were just protecting them from behind.” I took out two cups of coffee and four cups of milk tea from my portable bag. I gave one cup of coffee to Severus, one cup to myself, and used the Levitation Charm to give the rest of the milk tea to Harry, Hermione, Headmaster Dumbledore, and Professor McGonagall.
"Thank you." Everyone accepted their drinks and expressed their gratitude.
"You're welcome." I took a small sip of my coffee and smiled at Harry across from me.
"Here's what happened..." Seeing my smile, Harry relaxed and recounted the events, adding his own insights along the way.
"Hmm, I understand what happened." After listening to Harry's account, Albus Dumbledore put down his cup and looked in my direction, and then everyone looked at me.
"What's wrong? Why are you all looking at me? I didn't do anything this time."
"Ayers, is there anything you want to say?" Headmaster Albus Dumbledore pushed up his glasses and asked a strange question.
"What? Do you really want me to say something?" I smiled and played coy with the principal.
Harry and Hermione across from us were a bit confused. It was as if they were from a different world and couldn't quite understand my conversation with the headmaster.
Severus and Professor McGonagall remained silent, watching my conversation with Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
“Speak, I’m listening,” said Albus Dumbledore.
"I want that Philosopher's Stone, may I have it?" I smiled at Headmaster Albus Dumbledore; I was just a little curious about that Philosopher's Stone.
"Sure, what do you have in return? After all, it was a gift from my good friend." Headmaster Albus Dumbledore was indifferent to the Philosopher's Stone, but if he could get a guarantee from me, it would be a worthwhile investment.
"I can guarantee their safety until they are in their fifth year." It's just a guarantee, right? Even if Riddle were to appear in front of Harry and the others, I could still protect all three of them.
“Very well, Harry, give the Philosopher's Stone to Ayers.” Dumbledore had been waiting for this assurance from me; he really trusted me.
"Oh, okay." Harry and Hermione were still confused; they could tell that what I said seemed to be more effective than what the professor said.
"Then Severus and I will take our leave." Taking the Philosopher's Stone from Harry, I finished the last sip of my coffee and stood up to leave.
Severus also stood up and left with me.
I have no idea what the remaining few are plotting.
After watching Severus and I leave, the curious Harry looked at Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, why is it that we can't understand what you're talking about?" Harry asked Headmaster Dumbledore curiously.
“Harry, Ayers’ identity is a bit special, and I can sense that his strength is comparable to mine now. It’s a good thing that you can get his protection.” With someone like him protecting Harry and the others, Albus Dumbledore could rest assured a lot.
"Is this true, Dumbledore?" Professor McGonagall was also surprised to hear such explosive news.
Hermione covered her mouth in surprise.
"Yes, Minerva, he has that kind of strength." What Headmaster Dumbledore said is true. With so many bloodlines I have now, I really do have strength that surpasses his.
"That's incredible!" Professor McGonagall was astonished.
