Chapter 140: The Three-Person Challenge
Chapter 140: The Three-Person Challenge
Seeing the trio bickering with Draco, I just stood nearby and smiled.
That evening, I heard that the three people who had been penalized were going to the Forbidden Forest for a solitary confinement mission.
Feeling uneasy, I followed the three of them into the forbidden forest.
Now that Riddle's Horcruxes are gone, there won't be the scene of Professor Quirrell drinking unicorn blood. I wonder what the three of them will encounter tonight.
The Forbidden Forest was eerie and terrifying at night, and the three of them followed closely behind Hagrid, their hearts filled with fear.
Hagrid led them deeper into the Forbidden Forest, where strange noises emanated from the surroundings, sending chills down their spines.
Suddenly, a giant spider appeared in front of them, blocking their way.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron stared at the spider in horror, completely bewildered. Hagrid calmly told them that the spider was his friend and wouldn't harm them.
Encouraged by Hagrid, Harry, Hermione, and Ron mustered their courage and carefully bypassed the spider.
As they continued their journey, they encountered other dangerous creatures, but under Hagrid's protection, they survived them all without serious injury.
Ultimately, they completed their confinement mission. Although the process was filled with fear and danger, it also made them braver and stronger.
This experience made them realize that violating school rules comes at a price.
The three kids were terrified tonight. As soon as Hagrid said they could leave, they ran back to their dorm to wash up and go to sleep.
The next day, I don't know if it was related or not, but I overheard the three of them discussing going to find Hagrid. I followed them out of curiosity and overheard their conversation with Hagrid.
"Hagrid, think back to what happened when you got the dragon egg that day," Harry asked Hagrid anxiously, inquiring about the details.
"Why did you suddenly think of this, Harry?" Hagrid looked at Harry in surprise.
"That day at the pub, Professor Quirrell suddenly asked you about Fluffy, and then shortly after, someone gave you a dragon egg. It's all too coincidental, isn't it?" Harry frowned, deep in thought.
"Hmm...maybe it's just a coincidence." With Hagrid's intelligence, he scratched his head, somewhat puzzled and embarrassed.
“No, Hagrid, I don’t think this is a coincidence. Professor Quirrell must be trying to find out about Fluffy’s weakness from you so he can use it to steal the Philosopher’s Stone!” Harry shook his head in disbelief.
“Harry, don’t make wild guesses. Professor Quirrell is a teacher at our school, why would he do such a thing?” Hagrid’s expression turned serious; he wasn’t entirely sure about Harry’s speculation.
“Hagrid, think about it. Don’t you think Professor Quirrell has always been strange? And he always seems so nervous. I think he must be hiding something.” Harry looked at Hagrid firmly.
“But Harry, we have no evidence.” Hagrid hesitated for a moment.
“We can ask Headmaster Dumbledore! He’ll definitely know what to do.” Harry’s eyes lit up.
“Alright, Harry. You’re right, we should go ask Professor Dumbledore.” Hagrid nodded seriously in agreement.
Unfortunately, they ran into Professor McGonagall in the corridor and told her about their reasoning, but Professor McGonagall shook her head after listening.
"Harry, Headmaster Dumbledore isn't at school right now. He just happened to have something to do today," Professor McGonagall told them, delivering devastating news.
"How could this happen?" Harry felt completely lost.
"Harry, should we go talk to Ayers about what's going on?" Hermione suddenly thought of talking to me about it.
"Ayers, it's from Slytherin, is that really okay?" Ron really had a prejudice against Slytherin.
“Then who do you think can help us now?” Hermione asked Ron.
"There's no other way. We need to get the Philosopher's Stone as soon as possible and prevent Professor Quirrell from getting it. We'll set off tonight and see if we can get Ayers to come with us." Harry made up his mind that they would act tonight.
When we finished dinner, the trio really couldn't find me. Little did they know, I had been following them the whole time.
I used the 'Confusion Charm' to stand at the entrance of the Gryffindor common room, and I actually managed to catch the trio coming out of the Gryffindor common room.
The three of them, shrouded in shadow cloaks, swaggered out. Luckily, I was very sensitive to scents, so I silently followed behind them.
When the three of them arrived at the room where Louie was being held, I followed them at a distance and happened to run into Severus, who had also secretly followed them. I gave him a silent look.
Then, holding his hand, we followed behind them towards the final checkpoint room.
We also saw Ron who had fainted. Severus checked him over and, finding nothing wrong, we continued to the last room together.
"Harry, what did you see? Take that gem out." Severus and I stood outside the room, ready to rush in.
"Alaho Cave open." I was in charge of opening the door.
"Disarm you!" Severus launched the attack, swiftly and accurately knocking Quirrell's wand away.
"Petrify them all." I added another layer of protection, and this time Quirrell was truly unable to move.
“Harry Potter, if you still recognize the danger, shouldn’t you tell the professor first and not come here to take the risk?” Severus looked at Harry, who was standing there dumbfounded, with a dark expression.
"I'm so sorry, Professor." Harry really didn't dare to talk back; Professor Snape was truly terrifying.
"Well, Severus, let's take Harry and Hermione back first. As for Ron who fainted, let's take him to the school hospital."
I know Severus is concerned about Harry's safety, he just said it in a rather harsh way.
"Let's go. You take Harry and that Hermione back to Gryffindor, and I'll take Ron to the hospital and inform Dumbledore to deal with Quirrell's matter." Severus had arranged everything clearly.
"Okay, be careful." I blew Severus a kiss when Harry looked down at us.
Severus was truly surprised by my boldness, blushed slightly, and then cast the 'Levitation Charm' on Quirrell, transporting the petrified Quirrell away.
Harry and I followed Severus out like that, while Ron was still unconscious on the chessboard, so I used the levitation charm to transport him away.
"Severus, I think I'll go to the school hospital with you. I don't think you can carry two people by yourself." I was about to leave after going out, but then I thought about it and decided to go to the school hospital with you. Harry and Hermione also needed to have some minor wounds treated.
