"What a pity! I wonder how heartbroken the once invincible King Herod would be to see this scene now!" Musk said sarcastically. "Elves should just retreat to the deep mountains and forests to learn your druidic tricks; magic these days—"
“Master Ma, I’m a little curious.” Latis interrupted Musk’s taunts, stood up, and casually tossed all the dried sweet potatoes from his sleeves to the hooded man.
"What are you curious about?" Musk asked.
"You said..." Latis looked at the hooded man, then at Musk, gradually forming a preliminary understanding of the magical world's structure. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Is that magic network really that useful?"
“Of course!” Musk answered without hesitation, raising his hand proudly.
"Let me show you the superiority of the magic network! Come out, mage armor!"
……
[I have no interest in money (Elon Musk) #Offline]
Latis glanced at the logo on Musk's head, slowly sat down, and casually nudged the hooded man's waist, whispering:
Give me back a little bit.
"Huh? What?" The hooded man looked up, completely bewildered.
"Sweet potato chips, I'm still not full. The ones I ate earlier were too sweet and made my throat sore. I'll rest for a bit." Latis reached into the hooded man's clothes, grabbed a handful of sweet potato chips, and secretly hid them in his sleeve to eat.
"Mage Armor!"
A bead of cold sweat trickled down Musk's neck, and he muttered to himself, his face pale:
"Where is my magic network? Where is my huge magic network?"
"How spicy is it, Master Ma?" Latis licked the powdered sugar off his fingers and asked, feigning ignorance, "Is the signal bad?"
"Ah, right! Right! It must be a bad signal!" Musk regained some color in his face and immediately emptied the contents of the cart, muttering to himself as he rummaged through them:
"I remember I brought a signal booster, is that you? No, it's not you. Is it you? No, it's not you either. Oh! Here it is!"
He pulled out a device that looked like a miniature Eiffel Tower figurine, wound it up a few times, placed it on the ground, and earnestly prayed:
"May the goddess of magic protect you, may Queen Whiteley protect you..."
hum!
The clockwork started spinning rapidly, and Latis was startled, suddenly feeling a sound like the tide passing through his body. With a slight twitch of the shackles on the hooded man's wrists, the concentration of magic energy in the surrounding area instantly increased several times over.
"This is... a magical creation?" Latis looked at the hooded man in surprise.
The hooded man glanced at the small iron tower, thought for a moment, and said:
"It was made from materials from the mage tower. It looks a bit like an alchemist's creation, but the texture is more advanced. Perhaps it's a new product developed by the magic capital."
"There are alchemists in this world?" Latis frowned as if recalling some unpleasant past events. "Then is it possible to create magic from life?"
"How do you know?" the hooded man said in surprise in a low voice. "Alchemists, also known as wizards, have long since disappeared, precisely because of their blasphemy against life."
"Really? What do you mean?" Latis glanced at Musk, who was frantically searching for a signal while holding the Tower of Deception on a stool, and leaned closer to the hooded man to ask alertly.
The hooded man rubbed his slightly warm fingertips, exhaled, and whispered in Latis's ear:
"Because I only learned about many secrets in the family library and never really verified them, I am not sure of their authenticity. I heard that the reason why legends are legends is because they can touch on the mysteries of life and death in this field."
"However, alchemists, necromancers, or those mystics who lived in swamps and woodlands and studied the unknown, are now collectively called wizards. They possessed the ability to overturn the boundaries of life and death even before they became legends, so they were ostracized by orthodox wizards and gradually disappeared on the continent of Atlantis."
"I see." Latis mentally processed the stories, then sighed and thought:
"It seems that there have been various conflicts in the magical world here for a long time..."
"Ah, we have a signal!"
Musk suddenly started shouting, and Latis looked at him in surprise, sensing that the magic network was gradually reconnecting Musk back to his original position.
"What exactly is the Magic Network?" Latis began to ponder with a solemn expression.
"Watch closely, this is what a new-era mage looks like!" Musk, his expression once again filled with pride, stretched out his hands and shouted:
"Mage Armor! Protection Against Evil and Good! Alarm! Sanctuary!"
"Look how awesome I am! Hahahaha..." Musk laughed wildly, but when his eyes fell on Latis, his laughter suddenly stopped.
In his defense against good and evil, he keenly sensed that the man before him was shrouded in extreme pain and torment, posing a deadly threat!
Chapter 19 The Prison Hat, Released (Part 2)
[I have no interest in money: Seniors, when I was casting a spell, I saw a thick black aura emanating from someone, and their eyes gave me a strange chill. What's going on?]
[Ark's Big Shield Guy: Run!]
[I have no interest in money: Huh?]
[Ark Shield Guy: Of course, you might be mistaken. Generally, even if there's danger, it's just a faint black aura emanating from it. Otherwise, it would completely obscure your vision. Are you trying to protect yourself or others?]
[I have no interest in money: It's true! I swear!! It really is that kind of thing, very dark and thick, like gutter oil that has come to life.]
[Amateur sorcerer who's a full-time artist: Is that so? [Image]]
[I have no interest in money: it's not that the bottle has come to life, it's that a person, emanating a black mist.]
[Amateur sorcerer who's a full-time artist: Like this? [Image]]
[I'm not interested in money: No! No, buddy, why do you draw it like you've censored three points? Villain, Black Mist!]
[Amateur sorcerer who's a full-time artist: Forget it, you should just run away.]
[Turtle Shell Clashes with Kami: We in the defense faction generally don't ask why, we only say how. When you have this feeling, it's basically your turtle shell telling you it's utterly vulnerable in front of this person.]
[Captain Jenny: Do you have any extra points? If so, apply to the Magic Network to learn a Detection spell in the Prophecy faction's skill tree.]
[I'm not interested in money: It's not enough... and you can't exchange money for points on the Magic Network. I've only just started my first mission of the year!]
[Captain Jenny: Okay, I was just about to go to church. I'll pray for you.]
I have no interest in money: QuQ
……
Musk's consciousness withdrew from the communication zone protecting good and evil. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Latis's dead fish eyes staring intently at him with a greenish glow.
"Whoa! What are you doing?"
Musk nearly fell off the stool. He wrapped himself tightly in his blanket, glanced at the darkening sky outside, and involuntarily shivered.
"Huh? What?" Latis snapped out of his daze, wiping the drool from the corner of his mouth. Ever since he saw what looked like fried potatoes in Musk's cart, his salivary glands had been drooling like crazy.
"No, it's nothing." Musk awkwardly wiped away a bead of cold sweat, secretly glancing at Latis through the still-activated protective barrier of good and evil.
It is jet black, thick, and shiny.
He loosened his collar, silently touched the random teleportation scroll in his pocket, and felt slightly relieved to see that he had restored four level one spell slots and one level two spell slot.
"Let me see what mischief you're up to!" Latis sensed the remaining magic network link, his eyes lit up, and he opened his backend.
"Is that mage armor? It doesn't seem like it. There are so many people here. Does everyone like wearing armor?"
He glanced past the mage's armor and looked at the communication area protecting good and evil, a wicked smile instantly spreading across his face.
"Caught you, kid. You've been talking about me behind my back, haven't you? Who's the one who's turned into gutter oil?"
"Heh, I'll remember you," he said through gritted teeth towards the chat area.
However, just as he was about to leave the chat area, he suddenly saw a new message pop up.
[I'm selling ditch in Atlantis: Heh, I'll remember you.]
"Huh?" Latis exclaimed in surprise, "I can leave a message in the chat area without using any spells?"
[Captain Jenny: Remember who? Holy crap, Gouzi? Is that really him?]
[Turtle Shell Charges at Kami: Wow, really? Didn't you just use Mage's Hand for the first time a few days ago? You're already a first-ring mage!]
"Gouzi? That sounds familiar." A sudden chill stopped Latis from trying to recall. He looked at the new message, thought for a moment, and then tentatively spoke up.
[I'm selling ditch in Atlantis: I haven't posted much on the Magic Network, sorry, that was a typo.]
[Ark Shield Bro: I thought you were an alumnus, but it seems you're just a social mage? But being able to earn points and learn spells through the magic network is still impressive.]
[I'm selling sex in Atlantis: Uh, it's like this... By the way, I wanted to ask if any knowledgeable guys know of any safe routes near Dragonhorn Territory that lead to the Magic City?]
[Ark Shield Bro: Dragonhorn Territory? That poor guy who wasn't interested in money earlier seems to be in Dragonhorn Territory. He's a friend of mine in real life, and he's supposed to be back for a report in a week. Want me to help you contact him so you can go together?]
[I'm selling groin in Atlantis: Heh, maybe I shouldn't...]
[Walking Master Roshi: Bro, wanna come to Lundia from Dragonhorn Territory? A sixth-circle mage will be guiding apprentices the day after tomorrow, but since it's an apprentice assessment, there will be a lot of detours. You're already a first-circle mage, so there's no need for you to travel with an apprentice. How about considering the warrior walking tour that happens to pass through Dragonhorn Territory in three days? All-inclusive, and it only costs twenty gold whites starting from Dragonhorn Territory. What do you say?]
[I'm selling groin in Atlantis: Can I keep up? ...]
[Master Roshi on Foot: That's true... How about you add two gold white coins, and I'll have someone make a basket for you to pull? To be honest, the soldiers are quite happy to run with loads.]
[Captain Jenny: Get lost, you idiot. Sorry, I just did some confession at the church. Hey Gouzi, do you know Lord Dragonhorn? I heard he dismantled the teleportation array in Herod City and took it home. That array originally had sixteen coordinate recording points, but a landowner like him probably doesn't know how to maintain it, so it's probably downgraded to only nine. But maybe he still has the coordinates for Lundia. If you know him, you can ask him to borrow them.]
"Dragon Horn Lord?" Latis couldn't help but widen his eyes. "So there's something this good right here?"
[I'm selling ditch in Atlantis: Thank you, Jenny, I'm logging off now.]
"Huh? He logged off so quickly? I haven't even asked him if he's actually messed things up!"
In the dimly lit confessional, a female knight in golden armor began to shout in a strange, unpleasant voice.
“...Jennifer, you’re secretly surfing the internet again.”
An old sigh came from the room opposite her.
"Oh... I learned magic just so I could browse the magic network..." Jennifer said with a grin. "My relationship with the goddess is just for fun; my true love is for the God of Light."
boom!
An angry banging on the table suddenly erupted.
Jennifer's expression changed, and she immediately sat up straight and shouted:
“Father, I repent! I shouldn’t have taken in those who were branded as blasphemous, I shouldn’t have peeked at their writings about the Passion of Goddess, and I shouldn’t have had impure thoughts about Goddess!”
The confessional was deathly silent.
Just as Jennifer thought she had inadvertently angered the priest to the point of a heart attack, the aged voice, tinged with a hint of death, came from the other side:
“Jennifer, go and help the magic network sorcerers complete the task of eliminating the black hat sorcerers, so as to dispel the magic network's warning to you. After completing the task, you don't need to come back to report to me. Go straight back to the floating island. Herold City has landed, and your Hines City is about to leap forward. Go back to your father’s side!”
"Yes!" Jennifer shouted, then hesitated for a moment before asking softly, "Then, can I still read their stories about the suffering of goddesses?"
