Chapter 486 - 485: How Will I See Damian in the Future
Would Mrs. Sinclair let Damian come to find her?
Even with a simple thought, she knew it definitely wouldn’t happen. So, how could she meet Damian again in the future?
Bella Acker sat dazed on the sofa, utterly clueless at the moment.
She didn’t know how long she had been sitting in a stupor until the phone rang, bringing her back to reality.
Bella froze for a moment, then reached into her coat for her phone. The caller ID indicated Cynthia Young.
Once connected, Cynthia Young’s always brisk and decisive voice came through, "Are you planning to play hooky?"
At the words, Bella glanced at the clock hanging in the living room, realizing it was already past ten, almost eleven.
"Sorry, I overslept." Bella’s voice was thick with nasal sound, partly from crying too long and partly from catching a cold.
"Are you sick?"
"Yeah, a bit of a cold, but it’s not serious. I’ll head to the studio now," Bella paused and added, "But about today’s courses and training, could Ms. Young please help me take a leave? My head’s a bit dizzy; I might not be able to learn well."
"Just come over first," Cynthia paused and said, "I’ll have Judy order your lunch. Come and have lunch together."
"Alright." Hanging up the phone, Bella dazedly sat for another two minutes before getting up to wash up.
Her face seemed excessively pale, lips devoid of color, eyes red and swollen from crying earlier, and beneath her eyes were dark hollows due to fatigue.
Anyone seeing her in this state would likely assume she was suffering from a severe illness.
Bella gave a self-deprecating bitter smile, grabbing makeup to apply a light touch-up, putting on blush and lipstick, finally looking somewhat presentable.
Yet her red swollen eyes wouldn’t subside even with ice packs, so she eventually changed her clothes, wore sunglasses and a baseball cap, and went out.
Bella didn’t ask Judy to drive over to pick her up; she hailed a taxi to the studio herself.
Her popularity had buzzed online for a while, but without works to support this fleeting fame, things had completely quieted down. Even if she went out without disguise, few people recognized her. The nurse at the hospital yesterday was an exception.
By the time Bella arrived at the studio, it was already eleven. The newly signed artists in the studio knew she was championed by Elaine Vaughn and seemed to have an unusual background, so they all nodded politely in greeting when they saw her.
Usually, Bella was lively and enthusiastic, chatting cheerfully with colleagues who greeted her, but today was different.
Walking in with her head down, she didn’t greet anyone and went straight to Cynthia Young’s office.
The studio artists who planned to greet her were briefly stunned, exchanging puzzled looks and whispering, "What’s up with Sis Acker? She seems in a bad mood."
"Is it because of the photos and videos posted online by some random person?"
"It shouldn’t be, right? I heard Sis Acker rarely checks Twitter and such. Didn’t you notice she barely has any updates on Twitter for so long?"
Curious yet sensible, they chose not to ask further questions.
Bella knocked on the door, hearing someone respond from inside, she opened the door to enter, "Ms. Young, sorry for being late."
"Why is your voice so hoarse?" Cynthia frowned.
