Chapter 10: Uproar at the Tianxia Group!
Chapter 10: Uproar at the Tianxia Group!
The elevator doors slid open silently, and Feng Baobao slowly stepped out.
The ill-fitting high heels on her feet made a soft "tap, tap" sound as she stood on the floor. She was sometimes steady and sometimes unsteady, but she couldn't bear to take them off.
"Zhang Chulan, where are you? Please come out for a moment."
Feng Baobao stood at the elevator entrance, raised her voice and shouted, her voice standing out clearly in the quiet corridor.
Lu Xiaobai followed closely as he stepped out of the elevator.
A hint of helplessness crossed his face as his eyes swept over his surroundings. This scene was all too familiar.
Sure enough, a supernatural being dressed in a security uniform suddenly appeared from some corner, his hands emitting a dazzling purple aura, and he charged towards Feng Baobao while shouting.
"Take this, intruder!"
Feng Baobao didn't even change her expression. She turned to the side, raised her hand, and delivered a clean and precise chop to the back of the other person's neck.
"Sorry, sir, I need to speak with Zhang Chulan." She muttered softly. The security guard didn't even utter a sound; he simply collapsed to the ground.
Lu Xiaobai sighed helplessly as he looked at the process, which resembled a fixed NPC respawn.
He skillfully squatted down.
After checking the security guard's neck and breathing, it was confirmed that no bones were actually broken, he was just unconscious.
He raised his head, and a barely perceptible aura of magic seemed to flicker deep within the pupil of his deep blue right eye. His voice was soft, yet carried a peculiar rhythm:
"Is Zhang Chulan here?"
The security guard lying on the ground instantly became vacant, like a puppet, and blankly replied, "I...don't know."
"Oh." Upon hearing this, Feng Baobao nodded and began to walk deeper into the corridor, seemingly intending to continue calling out.
Lu Xiaobai stood up and rubbed his temples.
He's done this kind of thing countless times since he came up from the first floor: treatment, inquiries, nothing worked, and he keeps going.
He raised his right hand, and the finger with a ring similar to the one he usually wore moved slightly. A test tube of liquid flowing with a strange blue halo appeared out of thin air in his palm.
He pulled out the stopper and tilted his head back to take a small sip.
The blue liquid in the test tube visibly sank a little.
Lu Xiaobai casually tossed the test tube aside, and it vanished into thin air. Then he caught up with Feng Baobao again.
Not far behind them, in the shadows of the corridor and around the corner, stood a dozen or so people.
They maintained a "safe distance" of more than ten meters, remaining completely silent, their eyes fixed on this side with complex emotions.
This group is very diverse:
There are ordinary members who were previously knocked down by Feng Baobao, then easily healed by Lu Xiaobai, and now look confused or have simply given up on intercepting them.
Security personnel rushed to provide reinforcements, but seeing the fate of their brothers and glancing at Feng Baobao, this ruthless woman, dared not go up.
There were several figures whose auras were noticeably more composed, yet whose eyes flickered and whose faces held helplessness, scrutiny, or apprehension—these were the so-called four leaders of the World Society.
They all carried some kind of "souvenirs":
Some people had their clothes torn open, some were rubbing their throbbing elbows, and others had their wrists numb from the subtle force.
But now, they have all chosen to wait and see.
They went from being "interceptors" to being purely "spectators."
The four cadres and Feng Xingtong, who was standing at the front, saw clearly the process of Lu Xiaobai taking the medicine out of thin air and administering it to him.
"Holy crap!" An old man wearing only shorts, one of the cadres who had been beaten up by Feng Baobao before, couldn't help but exclaim in a low voice, his eyes wide open:
"Space equipment? Or... the same space ability as the young lady?" He subconsciously rubbed his still aching shoulders again.
"It doesn't seem like it," a short-haired, capable female cadre next to her said, frowning.
Her gaze was fixed on the rings on Lu Xiaobai's hand. "I've never heard of such a young weapon-refining master in the country. Those rings... there wasn't a single trace of Qi fluctuation, yet they appeared out of thin air? It's like magic!"
At this moment, she still felt a slight tingling sensation on her wrist from Feng Baobao's fingertips.
"What's even more bizarre is his healing technique!" The "brain trust" cadre, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and exuding a refined air, pushed up his glasses, his gaze behind the lenses filled with inquiry.
He recalled how his carefully prepared Qi formation was thwarted by Feng Baobao, who then punched him against the wall and cured him with a seemingly apologetic but incredibly efficient superpower.
"The speed is terrifying; the bruises healed in seconds! And his right eye... can it still make people tell the truth? This kind of method is unheard of!"
"This is nothing," the fourth cadre said, his voice filled with a deep sense of powerlessness.
He had put in all his effort, throwing all sorts of Qi bullets at her like they were free, but they were all blocked by the thin, transparent Qi shield with strange scale patterns that Lu Xiaobai casually put on Feng Baobao, without even a ripple.
"To be able to casually add this level of turtle shell to someone... it's simply unreasonable! The abilities this boy has used from beginning to end are completely different from ours! It's too strange!"
Feng Xingtong did not immediately join the discussion.
He stared intently at Lu Xiaobai—that exquisite profile, those eyes.
Especially his deep blue right eye, and the sense of alienation he exuded, which made him seem out of place with his surroundings.
Focused and efficient during treatment
The mysterious and unpredictable nature of conjuring objects out of thin air, these details...
The characteristics of the sorcerer, whom his sister Feng Shayan vaguely described but couldn't hide as strange after returning a few days ago, basically match!
Moreover, this boy's right eye ability seems to be far more than one, each one ridiculously powerful and frighteningly practical!
The father, Feng Zhenghao, sent two formal invitations to the magician through the company's North China branch, but both attempts went unanswered.
Then, recalling the importance my father placed on the arrival of the "mysterious guest" and the anticipation he felt for her over the past few days, as well as my sister's noticeably strange behavior after she returned...
Feng Xingtong's heart skipped a beat, and her pupils contracted sharply! A near-certain answer instantly rushed into her mind!
You can't go wrong!
It's most likely him!
The Western "magician" with all sorts of incredible abilities that my sister mentioned was personally invited by my father!
Looking at Lu Xiaobai's calm demeanor, as if he could "use a ring to open a dimensional space," and then at Feng Baobao beside him, who was practically a blank sheet of paper except for her fighting skills, Feng Xingtong was filled with doubt.
Why would this magician, whom even her father treated with such seriousness, act like a lackey, following behind Feng Baobao to clean up her mess?
Could it be that Zhang Chulan's matter is also important to him?
Or is there some special relationship between him and Feng Baobao?
As he pondered this, a thought flashed through his mind: That's it! His father had also invited a very important guest today, a master recognized throughout the entire community of supernatural beings as no ordinary person. He should be in his office right now...
Just then, at the end of the corridor,
The heavy, imposing door to the chairman's office was pushed open from the inside.
A figure stepped out.
He sported a head of fiery red, flamboyant short hair, wore a sharply tailored black outfit, casually tucked his hands into his pockets, and wore an undisguised sneer at the corner of his mouth.
His gaze swept lazily across the room with a condescending scrutiny.
First, heading in the direction of Feng Xingtong,
He nodded slightly, with a hint of respect.
Then, as his gaze swept over the members of the World Society behind Feng Xingtong, especially those cadres who still bore some signs of dishevelment, his contempt almost materialized.
Finally, his gaze fell on Feng Baobao, who was standing in the middle of the corridor, and Lu Xiaobai, who was standing quietly behind her.
That scrutiny was filled with naked contempt and disdain.
"Are you the intruders?"
