Chapter 236: Investigating Horcruxes
Chapter 236: Investigating Horcruxes
"Afro, you stay."
After some Ministry of Magic officials and school representatives left, Dumbledore called Aphrodite over.
Harry looked at her worriedly, and Afro quietly hooked his fingers soothingly, telling him not to worry.
"Harry, Cedric, I suggest you go back to bed." Dumbledore looked at them with a smile, "The two houses must be waiting to celebrate. They finally got this opportunity."
Harry glanced at Cedric, who nodded, and they both walked out of the room.
Various small objects in the room made tiny noises, and Dumbledore walked around a large round table and stood face to face with Aphrodite.
"About the Deathly Hallows..." He raised his hand and cast a spell around them to block others from prying eyes.
"Professor Dumbledore, I think it's not just the Deathly Hallows, there are other dark arts as well." Avro interrupted him. She knew that Dumbledore was talking about the news she got from Grindelwald during the holidays.
However, the most important thing is that Afro wants to use this channel to bring out the matter of the Horcrux in advance.
"You mean the Horcrux mentioned in the letter?"
Dumbledore stroked his long beard thoughtfully, sighed, and looked up at her. "Horcruxes, I have never heard of them, but I always thought that Tom had something he didn't want everyone to know. Perhaps it was the Horcrux you mentioned."
Afro nodded, waiting for his next words.
"But what is the connection between Horcruxes and the Deathly Hallows?"
"Professor, don't tell me you don't know his identity."
His blue eyes narrowed slightly, and he looked sharply at the blonde girl in front of him, "How do you know..."
Afro shrugged nonchalantly, "Big families all have their own information channels. We know a lot."
Dumbledore's expression softened, and it was unclear whether he believed her or not.
Afro's words were half true and half false. The Campbell family did have their own sources of information, but they were not as big as this.
But she is different. She is the one holding the script. She can't tell others that you are a character in a novel.
"Did he... mention the characteristics of Horcruxes?"
“No, and I don’t know the number.”
Dumbledore pulled the tattered black journal from the sleeve of his wide robes and placed it on the round table between them.
"Is this related to the Horcrux?"
Afro did not give an answer immediately, but paused for more than a minute, pretending to think, "Maybe, the teenage Voldemort was once sealed here, and it might be the first Horcrux."
His slender fingers stroked the edge of the diary. Dumbledore had never seen the young Tom in the diary, if all this was true.
Then he had at least started planning it when he was a teenager...
Maybe even earlier...
"Professor Dumbledore?" Afro called softly to the old man who was lost in thought.
Dumbledore suddenly came back to his senses and looked at her, with a rare look of confusion in his eyes.
Will he regret leading Voldemort into the wizarding world?
"Professor, this may also give us some clues."
Dumbledore continued to stare at her.
"The diary is a private item, so could other Horcruxes also be items with similar special meanings, such as the family emblem, the symbol of the school..."
Suddenly, a loud thunder sounded in the clear night, and deep purple lightning flashed across the starry sky, illuminating the room in an instant and then disappeared.
"Xiao Afu, take it easy!" 23's heart seemed to jump out of his throat when he heard the warning from the world consciousness.
Afro curled his lips and silently complained that the world consciousness was really stingy.
Another flash of lightning flashed outside the window, but it was much smaller than the previous one.
Dumbledore looked out the window at the sudden change in weather, a gleam of light flashing in his eyes behind his half-moon glasses.
"Can I ask you to take care of the Horcrux?"
Afro looked speechlessly at the old man who suddenly acted like a spoiled child. "Shouldn't this matter be investigated by a senior wizard?"
"I don't think Miss Campbell is any less capable than any adult wizard."
A smart old man.
This is Afro's latest evaluation of Dumbledore.
"Okay, okay, leave it to me." Avro crossed his arms and took on the responsibility. "But Professor Dumbledore had better not come up with a plan B."
"For example, secretly looking for the Horcrux yourself, or coming up with an extreme one-for-one operation."
His blue-green eyes seemed to read your every thought as he stared at you unblinkingly.
Dumbledore pushed up his glasses with a smile, his voice still loud, "Okay, I promise you."
"but--"
Just as Avro placed her hand on the door, Dumbledore's voice came again.
"Can you keep it a secret from little Harry for a while? If the Horcrux hypothesis is true, then Harry, whose scar is beginning to hurt..."
He didn't finish his words, but both of them understood the meaning.
But Afro was amazed that Dumbledore had guessed these things so early, so why did he still choose that plan?
