Chapter 92 Making Desserts for the Auntie
Chapter 92 Making Desserts for the Auntie
"Great! The bread roll has all the ingredients ready, and the chef team is all here. Just give them instructions." With dessert to eat, the auntie was very easy to talk to.
This actually made You feel much more relaxed.
But...
"Um, how do I get to the kitchen? I don't know the way..." Katakuri didn't come with her; Perospero dropped her off and left. Now, with no one to guide her, she's going to be walking around until midnight without finding the kitchen.
Normally, Yu wouldn't know how the older woman would react to such a small thing, but today, Yu was truly flattered.
"Zeus, take You there."
Wearing a small red and white hat, a white cloud led Yu all the way from the cake castle to the kitchen. And, considerately, it didn't leave, floating in mid-air waiting for Yu to finish making the dessert.
She knew about this little cloud called Zeus when she was in the navy.
Big Mom created three special Homies as her confidants, all of whom were composed of fragments of Big Mom's own soul.
First is Napoleon Homie, whose bicorn hat can transform into a saber; Big Mom usually wears him on her head. Next is Prometheus Homie, the "sun" transformed from flames, who has the ability to manipulate fire. Finally, there is Zeus Homie, the "thundercloud" transformed from water vapor, who has the ability to create thunder.
These three guys have been with Big Mom since she first became a pirate, and their status in Whole Cake Island goes without saying; they're even older than Perospero.
Yu had seen footage of them in previous incidents; they all looked menacing. She had only caught glimpses of them from afar the few times she'd seen them before, this was the first time she'd observed the little cloud so closely.
I must say, the soft, fluffy cloud body, paired with a cute little hat, and its carefree, lazy, and silly appearance is quite endearing.
However, no matter how much she liked it, she had to wait until after she finished making the dessert to talk about it. Now she needed to focus on showcasing her skills.
With the help of a professional culinary team, Yu was twice as fast this time, but by the time she put the food in the oven, Zeus on the roof had already taken a nap.
"Ah~" She yawned and slowly woke up, sniffed the air, and looked around with her sleepy eyes, finally fixing her gaze on the oven. "It smells so good~"
Yu thought to herself, "No wonder this Homie is made up of an old lady's soul; they're so similar when it comes to eating!" Her mouth was watering.
"Your name is Zeus, isn't it?"
Zeus looked down at You standing on the ground with a silly look in his eyes, "Yeah, last time when Mom wanted to eat it, I smelled this smell too, it smells so good, slurp."
Yu really finds this dazed look hilarious. "Fly down a bit, let me touch you, I'll let you taste it."
Zeus, his mouth glistening with saliva, stared intently at the shapes of the desserts peeking out from inside the oven, as he slowly descended.
Yu rubbed her restless hands, a smug look on her face. She could already imagine how soft Zeus would be, probably even softer than the chiffon cake she made!
Just as the cloud was about to throw a punch at Zeus, it suddenly flew higher.
"No, no, Mom will kill me if she finds out! How can I eat Mom's dessert first! No, no!"
Tsk, this little cloud has quite a few principles. But none of that matters to Yu.
“The pastry chefs always taste these desserts themselves. I’ll share some with you, it’s alright.” You smiled slyly, waiting for Zeus’s reaction.
Little Cloud had been itching to get going for a while, after all, it was a total glutton. And with You saying that, Zeus had no bottom line either.
"Then you can't tell Mom, okay?"
Yu nodded in satisfaction and agreed.
With a "ding," it's ready to serve. After adding the last of the ingredients, a sweet and delicious Italian crepe is complete.
Zeus couldn't wait to be fed one by Yu.
A sweet aroma filled the air, and Zeus was blissfully happy, like a complete fool. Though he wasn't exactly intelligent to begin with.
"Delicious! Delicious! So delicious!"
Yu ignored it, squeezing Zeus's body; it felt so good. This cloud is so comfortable.
I suddenly feel a little envious of older women who don't walk when they go out, but instead ride on such comfortable clouds.
Waaaaah, she wants one too! It's so cool and she'd be so happy!
"Slurp, can I have another one?" Zeus finished one, still wanting more, his mouth watering.
You waved her finger to indicate no, "Are you going to fight with the old lady for dessert?"
"...I didn't say anything." Fighting with your mother for food, even if it was made by her, will never end well!
"Let's go, take me to find the old lady."
The person and the cloud returned to the old lady's side.
Before You could even introduce it, the older woman looked on with anticipation and couldn't wait to reach for the dessert and put it in her mouth.
It's pretty obvious that she truly loves desserts.
Mmm! Delicious!
"mommom~mommom~"
As they ate, they made sounds expressing their delight. The three Homies watched longingly, able only to sense how delicious it was, but unable to try it themselves.
Yu sat in the corner, propping her chin on her hand, unsure whether to leave or stay. Finally, she began to admire the three Homies' drooling, envious expressions.
The aroma of black tea filled the air. Then, a man with a mustache, wearing sunglasses and carrying a cane walked in.
He had a steaming cup of black tea on his head, wore a tight-fitting suit jacket on his upper body, and eggshell-shaped pants on his lower body.
He bowed respectfully to the older woman, saying, "Mom!"
Yu vaguely remembered this person; his name was Baron Tamago, a member of the Longleg Tribe, a combatant in the Big Mom Pirates, and his rank was "Knight".
He does have some strength. After all, in the Big Mom Pirates, whose officers are almost entirely composed of members from the Charlotte Family, it's rare for someone outside the family to receive the title of "Knight."
However, Yu didn't know why he came.
Baron Tamago was also surprised to see Yu, who was always by Katakuri's side, here. It seemed that her mother hadn't made things difficult for her.
The older woman was eating happily, but she seemed slightly displeased by Baron Egg's sudden intrusion. She frowned and glared at him. "What is it?"
Baron Egg stood still, but You could clearly see sweat dripping down his cheek.
Sure enough, almost everyone in this family was afraid of the old lady; she was a tyrannical ruler.
"Mom, we captured a group of invading pirates at the border and dealt with them all. However..."
"Ok?"
"We caught a dying male lion, a Mink Tribe member, on their ship. Should we keep him, bon?"
Upon noticing the keyword, the woman stopped eating her dessert. "The fur tribe?"
"Mommom~Mommom~Of course we should stay. The Kingdom of Treasures doesn't have any fur tribes yet."
Looking at the woman with her arms outstretched, You thought she was being a little too emotional.
However, Yu also wants to meet the fur tribe.
"Where is that furry tribesman now?" Yu asked curiously.
"In the prison of Montdor's book."
Whole Cake Island doesn't have a dedicated prison because Mont-d'Or possesses the Book-Book Fruit ability, which allows him to preserve living organisms as specimens, fly through the air using books, and even pull people into the stories within books.
Moreover, escape from the Book-Book Fruit's book prison is virtually impossible, unless burned.
"Well, since you're so interested, then you can take care of that furry guy for now. Bring him over to see me when he's better." The old lady suddenly became very kind.
Yu did somewhat want to see him, but she wasn't thinking about taking care of him. "Does it have to be me?"
"Hmm? You have something to complain about?" The older woman's eyes were threatening, as if she would take action immediately if You said the next word.
"If I stay in the Cake Castle, there's a place where I can rest, right..." Oh no, she feels like she's going to be trapped here!
Baron Egg received a signal from the old lady and said to Yu, "I'll take you to Bon."
“Okay…” You smiled and nodded.
Her smile was merely a protective facade.
