One Piece: It's always been you

Chapter 145 Be My Son!

Chapter 145 Be My Son!

Whitebeard wouldn't just take down such a young and powerful upstart pirate with a single strike. He was courageous and daring, but there was still resentment in his eyes; he seemed to have not yet achieved his goal.

"If you haven't had enough fun yet, then go ahead and cause as much trouble as you want on this ocean using my name."

"Be my son!"

Looking at the white beard, Ace recalled what Yu had said earlier; it was exactly the same. The tone and the actions were identical.

But that's absolutely impossible!

Perhaps it was this resentment, or perhaps it was the feeling that Whitebeard was sympathizing with him, but Ace, with his last breath, swung his fist at Whitebeard.

When he woke up again, he was already on the Moby Dick.

Seagulls soared freely in the blue sky, and the Moby Dick sailed calmly on the sea. But Ace couldn't calm down.

With no other ships around, and being an ability user, he had no way to leave and escape. Staying was inevitable, but he was so unwilling!

Slumped onto the deck, Ace irritably rubbed his hair.

"I am the captain of the fourth team, my name is Sachi."

The voice beside him made Ace look up. Already irritated, he saw the Whitebeard Pirates and his mood sank even further. Then, Thatch's next words broke Ace's defenses: "Since you're now crewmates, let's get along well."

What does it mean to become a crewmate? He came to challenge Whitebeard; he has no intention of becoming a member of the Whitebeard Pirates! Don't think that just because he lost, he's a crewmate! Absolutely not.

Ace blurted out, "Stop talking nonsense!"

Sachi wasn't angry or anything; his tone was the same as before, and he even found it a little funny. "What's wrong? Are you in a bad mood because you just woke up?"

Ace kept his head down and didn't say anything.

"By the way, let me tell you what happened after I fell into a coma."

"Your companions tried to take you away, but they were defeated by us."

Upon hearing his companion's name, Ace's body trembled slightly as he lowered his head. Sachi noticed this and continued, "Don't worry, they're not dead. They're on this ship."

Ace hadn't seen his crew since waking up, and assumed that when Thatch said they were on the ship, they had been captured and imprisoned there. But the thought of himself sitting freely on the deck with his arms and legs undisturbed Ace's purpose.

"You won't even put any shackles on me, are you sure it's okay to just leave me on the ship like this?"

“Shackles?” Sachi said, as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world. “We don’t need that kind of thing.”

Sachi simply felt that Ace had gained the father's approval to stay on the ship, and since they were now partners, there was no need for such cumbersome and unnecessary things as shackles.

But when it came to Ace, he only felt that it was the Whitebeard Pirates mocking him.

It's like saying, "It's okay if we don't shackle you, since you're weak and can't beat us, let alone Dad."

Ace gritted his teeth, but didn't say anything in rebuttal, nor did he react strongly.

Now that we're on the ship, it's only a matter of time before we kill Whitebeard; we'll definitely have an opportunity.

And so, Ace waited until nightfall.

In the dead of night, with only a few crew members on guard, Ace sneaked into Whitebeard's room. No one on board was wary of him, nor even noticed him.

The room was filled with medical equipment. Whitebeard lay on the bed in the middle, shirtless, with the blanket only covering his calves.

With a breathing tube inserted into his nose and three or four IV drips beside him, if one didn't know that this person had a white beard, one would only think he was a terminally ill patient.

However, these medical measures did not cause Ace to hesitate in the slightest. Flames erupted around him as Ace stared intently at the fast-sleeping Whitebeard on the bed, then raised his fist and charged forward.

With a loud "bang," came the sound of an object colliding with a wall and cracking. Immediately afterward, in a cloud of smoke, the sentry crew members, who were drinking and chatting, saw Ace slump onto the deck.

"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?!"

"Be careful in the middle of the night!"

The two didn't consider why Ace had become like this, even though they knew he had flown out of their father's room. They just felt that the commotion was rather loud, especially late at night.

Ace covered his nose, which was bleeding from the punch, and gritted his teeth in resentment.

He saw it!

Before my fist even touched Whitebeard, he opened his eyes and punched me, and now he's fast asleep again!

Am I dreaming? Or have I really discovered something?

hateful!

Ace wouldn't attack Whitebeard after he'd already been discovered; he'd have to wait for another opportunity.

During the day, Whitebeard would sit on the deck, enjoying the breeze and drinking, occasionally chatting with his crew.

Ace hid on one side of the cabin, and after confirming that Whitebeard hadn't noticed him and that no one else was paying attention to him, he grabbed the giant axe he had just found and charged forward.

Now, you can't guard against things from behind anymore!

However, before the axe blade could even touch the back of Whitebeard's neck, he was thrown off balance and sent flying again. This time, Ace was knocked into the sea.

"Hey! That guy fell into the sea!"

"He can't swim!" The crew members on deck looked at the huge waves in the sea with helplessness. "Someone come quick and rescue him!"

Despite repeated failures, Ace did not lose heart. In the days that followed, whether it was windy or rainy, day or night, he persisted in pursuing his original goal whenever possible.

Whitebeard tirelessly tossed Ace out again and again, but never managed to kill him; at most, Ace would suffer some physical pain.

Deus and the others also came to find Ace, but Ace insisted on his own ideas.

“If you stay on Whitebeard’s crew, you won’t be in danger.” It’s all about winning or losing; the crew members are being held captive on the ship, and they might change their minds over time. Ace didn’t see anything wrong with that. “But I won’t give up. Either he dies, or I die!”

Ace was thrown into the sea once again.

The crew on deck were no longer surprised by Ace's actions; they were simply helpless.

"It's always like this, this guy is really persistent..."

"Has it been a hundred times?"

"I think so."

At first, when Ace fell into the sea, they were anxious to find someone to save him, but now the others aren't so worried anymore.

It would be better to hurry up and repair the ship, so that it doesn't end up in the same spot again and cause the poor Moby Dick to be damaged a second time.

Not to mention the crew members were annoyed, even Ace himself was starting to question his existence.

How come an old man who drinks heavily and needs IV drips every day is so hard to kill!

Ace sat slumped in the corner of the deck, his head resting on his knees, his arms hanging limply at his sides.

The aroma of food filled the air, and a bowl of soup was placed in front of Ace.

Marco put down his soup without looking at Ace, and prepared to leave. This guy didn't like talking to them; Marco used to chat with him for a bit, but now he wouldn't say a word.

Unexpectedly, Ace took the initiative to strike up a conversation.

"Why...why do you call him 'Dad'?"

Marco thought he was going to ask something else, but this question hit the nail on the head: "Because that man calls us sons."

Hearing Xiao Ma's answer, You, who was hiding to the side, almost broke down and exposed herself.

Is this how you answer a question?

But thankfully, Marco didn't finish his sentence: "We are all people hated by the world, and just that one sentence makes us very happy."

"I'm really happy."

Ace looked at the smile on Marco's face, a smile different from his own. Was it simply because of Whitebeard's words about becoming his son?

What a strange reason!
