Chapter 10 Joyful Town (4)
Chapter 10 Joyful Town (4)
Yu didn't stay in the room for long; the desserts were just too sweet. Besides, she'd slept in the room all day and wanted to get out and move around.
On the deck, Katakuri faced a group of chess pieces and spoke solemnly.
Yu knew that Katakuri was about to attack Baron. Having experienced his previous defeat, Katakuri would never fall under Baron's control again, nor would he let Baron go.
"Do you need my help?" Yu felt that she was now part of the ship, and couldn't just stand by and do nothing.
“No need. This is a struggle between him and me.” After a pause, he added, “None of you should interfere.”
"Yes, Lord Katakuri!" the chess soldiers replied in unison.
Katakuri led his chess pieces in another direction from the town. Only Yu and a few soldiers remained on the ship. Watching Katakuri's retreating figure, Yu didn't know what to say. A voice kept telling him, "He's always been like this. This is who he is."
The sudden sound left Yu confused, but she didn't dwell on it.
Is it really okay for him to go like this?
"Oh, right!" You hurriedly left the ship and disappeared without a trace.
Before even reaching the town, Katakuri ran into Buck.
Unable to enter the cave from the outside, Buck had planned to wait for them, but to no avail. Since they hadn't come out of the cave, it could only mean that there was another exit. Buck had no interest in searching for the exit and instead launched an attack on the town.
Joytown lost its joy in a single day, engulfed in flames that seemed impossible to extinguish. The townspeople scattered in all directions, their cries of agony filling the air.
Buck stood before the burning town, flames forming a backdrop that emboldened his arrogance. However, all of this was nothing but a bluff in front of Katakuri.
"Katakuri, you're out. You're lucky you escaped from the cave. Otherwise... hahaha!"
Ignorance often leads to talkativeness, and those who talk too much rarely end up badly.
Meanwhile, Yu left Katakuri's ship and went to Buck's pirate ship. She was going to retrieve Katakuri's Earth Dragon!
The road she was walking along ran along the mountains, so she couldn't see what was happening in the town. It wasn't until she arrived at the Buck Pirates' location that she could see the thick smoke curling up from the flames in the distance.
"How could this be...!" Yu couldn't believe that the town had become like this just a day ago.
"Miss..."
"Who's there!" The voice came from the pirate ship behind him. Yu didn't dare to be careless and immediately went on alert.
The owner of the voice gradually appeared in front of Yu; it was Buck's father, Wolf.
"You saved me and Katakuri, thank you!" Yu had no ill intentions towards Wolf.
"He must have told you everything..." Wolf hesitated, but finally spoke, "I'm helping you in the hope that you can persuade that man to spare Buck's life when he's dealing with him."
Yu was puzzled. Although he had indeed saved her, she had also saved him.
“I have no right to interfere with Katakuri’s thoughts.” Yu felt that Wolf’s motives were impure.
"Actually... Buck burned down the town."
What?! This Buck, wanting to betray his own family, not only shot his own father, but also implicated innocent people. That's outrageous!
"You know, you still want to spare his life."
“I know he shouldn’t be forgiven. But he… he’s my son, and even though he’s wrong, I still want him to live.”
"Incomprehensible." Yu didn't want to say anything more to Wolf. He turned around, picked up the Earth Dragon, and prepared to leave to find Katakuri.
"I beg you. You can hurt him however badly you want, just spare his life." Wolf rolled on the ground with a thud, pleading with Yu's retreating figure.
"If you spare his life, have you considered what he might do after he recovers?"
"I..."
"Since there isn't one, I'm afraid I can't spare his life." I also didn't want to interrupt Katakuri's fight.
