"I am Lucci's shadow. As long as Lucci is alright, I will never disappear." Lucci smiled and ruffled Luffy's hair. "After returning, Lucci will probably just have one more layer of memories of sailing with you guys."

"Wait a minute." Nami interrupted everyone's relaxation, asking eagerly, "Lucci, do you mean Lucci will join us?"
“Of course.” Qi looked at Nami with a puzzled expression. “Didn’t Lucci accept Luffy’s invitation again back in Water 7? Now that everything is over, and this is a good start.”
The other crew members looked at the excited Nami with confusion. Lucci had indeed promised Luffy two years ago; to be precise, Lucci was already their partner.
Sanji also looked at Nami, but he tripped over her the moment he saw her and fell onto the deck, his nose bleeding again.

“But he certainly didn’t seem like he was going to agree to join,” Nami said again. “He also said he planned to go to the New World by himself.”
"Luffy, what Nami said might be true." Qi thought that Lucci had been refusing him ever since he finished his mission. He had never understood why Lucci did this before, but now, after hearing Nami's words, he understood a little.
"Impossible! He promised me! Lucci wouldn't leave on his own!" Luffy retorted.
“If Lucci really decided to join, he should have accepted this memory that I and you created together without any hesitation, but Lucci has been refusing,” Lucci explained.
"Lucci will join the Straw Hat Pirates!" Luffy was a little angry. He didn't understand why everyone was saying Lucci wouldn't join him. "We'll have plenty of opportunities to create memories later! This is completely wrong!"
"Luffy, do you really want Lucci to join?" Robin asked with a smile.
“That’s right!” Luffy nodded seriously. “I’m determined to get Lucci to join us. He will be my crew member.”
Luffy said firmly, then looked at Qi, "No matter what, he's already the vice-captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He's been gone for a long time, we should bring him back."
Qi chuckled and patted Luffy's head. "That's right."
“In that case, Captain,” Robin chuckled, “we might have to snatch our first mate back from the Four Emperors.”

"I will always be Lucci's captain!" Luffy stood up, his hand on his hat, looked at his crew, grinned, and a hint of wildness in his eyes. "Even if Whitebeard tries to stop me, I will defeat him and take Lucci back."
Seeing everyone's reactions, Lucci couldn't help but laugh. He had made all the preparations. He believed that Lucci would soon understand that his bond with the Straw Hat Pirates had existed from the very beginning. He hoped that Lucci could more easily adapt to his identity in the Straw Hat Pirates.
