Chapter 211 211: Another Impossible Invention!
Chapter 211 211: Another Impossible Invention!
"Everyone, this is my teacher—Muyu," Nagato introduced Hyuga Arin.
Everyone had already heard their conversation earlier. They all looked at Arin with great respect.
At the same time, they greeted him respectfully.
"Hello, Teacher Muyu!"
Their strength all came from Nagato. Since Arin was Nagato's teacher, that technically made him their grand-teacher.
Just like that, Arin gained an entire generation of seniority for free.
Arin's mouth twitched as he looked around.
They were all young boys and girls—none of them adults.
"They've all lost their families," Yahiko added from the side. "We took them in and taught them how to become chakra users."
"Why are they all children?" Arin asked curiously.
Yahiko's expression turned sorrowful.
"Because during the war, most adults sacrificed their lives to protect the children."
They had taken in some adults before.
But when those adults saw that the leaders were just three kids, they developed other ideas.
If Nagato hadn't been strong enough to drive them away, this place would have been destroyed long ago.
Of course, Yahiko didn't feel the need to tell Arin that part.
"That's really…" Arin's expression flickered with something complicated. "Admirable. These children are the continuation of their lives."
"Anyway," Arin said, patting Nagato's shoulder, "could you give me a room? I'll be staying here for a while."
Then he suddenly seemed to remember something, and a bright smile appeared on his face.
"I'll also give you all some training while I'm here."
Since Jiraiya had never stayed behind to teach them, Arin decided he would take on that responsibility instead.
He just hoped Uchiha Madara wouldn't regret it later.
Yahiko and Nagato both bowed.
"Then we'll trouble you, Teacher."
Although Nagato had taught everyone how to become chakra users, he himself didn't know many techniques.
He only knew the Three Basic Techniques—and even those weren't something everyone could use successfully.
And while the Three Techniques worked well against ordinary people, they were hardly effective against real ninja.
There were quite a few houses in the village.
This place had originally been an abandoned settlement, but Nagato and the others had turned it into their base.
Mainly because it was safer here.
The ruined cities were far more dangerous—there could be attacks from adults, or even ninja.
To protect the majority, Nagato and the others established their base here.
Those who could successfully use the Three Basic Techniques were sent into the ruins of cities to search for supplies.
Although the Hidden Rain Village had lost the war, they had still managed to drive out the ninja of other nations.
Those outsiders still feared the existence of Hanzo the Salamander.
But Hanzo was ultimately just a ninja.
He knew how to fight—but had no idea how to rebuild a country.
Or perhaps the thought had never even crossed his mind.
Most of the Rain Country's nobles had died during the battles between the major ninja villages.
The few who survived fled to other countries.
After seeing Rain Country reduced to ruins, they had no intention of returning.
No one governed the nation.
No one rebuilt the cities.
Rain Country had essentially been abandoned by the world.
It had become a true post-apocalyptic wasteland.
That was exactly how Arin had felt when he traveled here from the Land of Fire.
Even though the foreign enemies were gone, peace still hadn't returned.
Now everyone's enemy was simply… everyone else.
All for food.
All for survival.
A house slightly better than the others became Arin's temporary residence.
He stood by the window, looking out at the endless drizzle.
Every time he came here, the scene was the same.
And strangely enough… it made him feel nostalgic.
"Teacher, this is Konan," Nagato said, introducing her.
"The three of us are the administrators here."
Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan.
Just like in their original fate, the three of them had still ended up together.
"Hello, Teacher," Konan said respectfully.
Arin nodded.
He pulled a chair over and sat down, glancing at the three of them standing before him.
Finally, his gaze landed on Nagato.
"Tell me," he said calmly, "what happened during these past two years?"
Judging by the fact that Nagato was now surrounded by a group of children, it was obvious what had happened to his parents.
Nagato's expression dimmed.
After a long silence, he finally spoke.
"After you left, Teacher… the Hidden Rain declared war on Konoha."
"During the fighting between Konoha and Rain ninja, the city was destroyed."
"My parents… died protecting me… at the hands of Konoha ninja."
He hesitated slightly when he said the last part.
After all, the teacher in front of him might also be a Konoha ninja.
"Go on," Arin said calmly.
Aside from a few specific individuals, everyone else in his eyes was basically just monsters waiting to be farmed.
Whether they lived or died didn't really matter.
Though it was a shame they hadn't died by his hand.
Nagato gathered his thoughts.
"I fainted during that time. When I woke up, the Konoha ninja were already dead."
"And… this eye awakened."
He subconsciously touched his eyes.
"After that, I left the city and met Yahiko and Konan."
"I'll continue from there," Yahiko said, cutting in.
"At first, we targeted Nagato because we knew he was a ninja—but he didn't have a village headband."
"We approached him, but he said he was a chakra user and rejected the identity of a ninja."
"Nagato accepted us without any suspicion and taught us how to become chakra users."
"But there were many people like us."
"So I suggested gathering them together."
"That's how we built this place. Everyone here survives by supporting each other."
Arin rested his chin on one hand as he listened.
Honestly, he wasn't that interested in the story.
But from their interaction, he could clearly see one thing.
Even though Nagato was the ninja among them—
The real leader was Yahiko.
"As long as you're alive, that's what matters," Arin said with a small smile.
After all, White Zetsu was watching.
Nagato might experience danger.
His family might die.
But Nagato himself would never die.
What a terrifying dark joke.
Looking at how harmonious the three of them were, Arin continued:
"If I taught Nagato alone, he probably wouldn't be happy, right?"
He glanced at Nagato.
Nagato immediately nodded vigorously.
"I want Konan and Yahiko to grow stronger with me too, Teacher."
"Then all three of you can be my disciples," Arin said.
He tapped the table thoughtfully.
"To be honest… I don't have many ninja techniques to teach you."
In reality, he had quite a lot he could teach.
Fire Release.
Genjutsu.
Medical ninjutsu.
Those were the three areas he excelled in most.
But teaching those would take too long.
And more importantly—
It wouldn't annoy Uchiha Madara enough.
What he planned to teach them was something else entirely.
"But I can teach you a power completely different from that of ninja."
"You can truly become chakra users."
"But whether you'll succeed…"
"I honestly don't know."
He looked at the three of them calmly.
"You might even die."
"And even so—"
"Do you still want to learn?"
