My Lady is well

Chapter 172 Destiny

Chapter 172 Destiny

Jin'er's abilities are really getting better and better!

The doctor was called in early in the morning, but Shen Yueyao was still lying on the bed.

She stretched out her slender wrist from the gauze and placed it on the pulse pillow.

After the doctor carefully took Jin'er's pulse, what he said was exactly the same as what he said before.

"Madam, you are a little weak. You should walk more to strengthen your body. Try to eat less sweets to prevent the fetus from being too large and causing a difficult delivery."

In ancient times, the mortality rate due to difficult childbirth was extremely high, so Shen Yueyao certainly did not dare to take it lightly.

This folk doctor is different from the imperial physician in the palace. The doctor will give a few more instructions before leaving.

"Madam, if you have nothing to do on weekdays, you can ask your husband to take you out for a walk. Taking more walks is always good for your health."

"..."

When Shen Yueyao heard this, she paused suddenly and spoke slowly.

"Uh... my husband contracted a disease and has unfortunately passed away."

When the doctor heard this, he was stunned for a moment and couldn't help sighing in his heart, thinking that this lady really has a miserable life!

He is so young...how pitiful!

After Jin'er sent the doctor away, she helped her get up, and after a simple wash, she immediately took out the hat.

She smiled and said, "Master, you have heard what the doctor said, right? I will accompany you for a walk."

Shen Yueyao laughed softly, like a yellow oriole singing out of a valley.

"I didn't know. I thought you were in collusion with the doctor."

"How could it be? How could I collude with others to deceive the master? The doctor has said that you should listen to me this time, so that you can be stronger in the future and suffer less during childbirth."

Shen Yueyao thought what she said made sense, so she didn't refuse. Jin'er put on the veil for her and went out happily.

Seeing that she was in some interest, Jin'er chirped happily like a little bird and coaxed her all the way to Jingxin Temple.

Seeing how hard she worked, Shen Yueyao saw through it but didn't say anything. She had nothing to do anyway, so she just took it as a way to relax.

Fortunately, Jingxin Temple was not too far from her house.

Not long after she walked, she heard a melodious bell sound. Looking up, she saw an ancient temple standing on the hillside in front of her.

The incense from the temple rises in the morning glow, exuding a mysterious atmosphere.

Chen Yueyao was full of curiosity and wanted to go in and find out what was going on.

Jin'er supported her and walked towards the mountainside step by step. The winding path led to a secluded place and the temple was peaceful.

Today is neither the first nor the fifteenth day of the lunar month, so not many people come to burn incense.

Jin'er pulled her to kneel in front of the Bodhisattva. Shen Yueyao looked up at the Buddha, who was also looking down at her with compassion and kindness in his eyes.

She had never believed in gods or Buddhas, and didn't know why she should worship. She just knelt on the cushion and looked into the Buddha's eyes.

If the Buddha really has a spirit, she hopes to return to her own world.

I wonder if he has this ability?

Shen Yueyao stood up and lit a stick of incense. After walking for half a day, she felt a little thirsty, so she and Jin'er went to the backyard and asked the master in the temple for a bowl of water.

Suddenly, I saw an old monk sitting in meditation under a banyan tree. He was wearing a simple cassock, with a white beard and long eyebrows. His fingers were clasped on a string of agarwood Buddhist beads, which he slowly turned one by one.

He had a calm expression, blending in naturally with the surrounding aura, and looked quite like an immortal.

If he were to deceive someone, he would look much more deceptive than the fake charlatan in the palace last time.

Shen Yueyao stood quietly under the eaves, staring at the old monk.

He clasped his hands together and muttered something in a mellow and ethereal voice.

"Amitabha, well done, well done! All appearances are false. If you see that all appearances are not appearances, then you will see the Tathagata."

Shen Yueyao looked around with some confusion and found that there was no one else around.

She realized that the monk was talking to her. She had little interest in Buddhism and was confused by these profound Buddhist words.

She frowned and asked after thinking for a moment.

"I don't have the wisdom to understand what you mean. Please help me."

The monk seemed to have a pair of wise eyes, as if he could see through people's hearts at a glance, and said calmly with a smile.

“The donor should not be obsessed with where life comes from.”

Shen Yueyao's eyebrows twitched slightly, her heart skipped a beat, her eyes filled with surprise, and she looked at the monk carefully.

He stood as still as a mountain, with the breeze gently blowing up his robes, making him look like an immortal from otherworldly realm.

Shen Yueyao blinked a few times and thought it was unlikely. She was just scared by him.

But from the implication of his words, it was clear that he was asking her not to be so obsessed about whether she could go back?

She asked blankly, "Master knows?"

The monk still smiled calmly, his expression kind and peaceful.

"All conditioned phenomena are the result of the combination of causes and conditions. When the conditions arise, they arise; when the conditions cease, they cease to exist. It is nothing more than this."

Shen Yueyao felt confused when she heard what he said. She pondered over his words for a long while, frowned, and asked seriously.

"Can I... still go back?"

The monk stood up from the cushion, raised his sleeves, took out a red rope and handed it to her, looking at her quietly.

"Before the Buddha there is a flower called Udumbara. It takes a thousand years for it to sprout, a thousand years for it to bud, a thousand years for it to bloom, and then it withers in the blink of an eye. Its beauty lasts only for a moment."

Shen Yueyao looked at him blankly. Although she didn't quite understand what the old monk said, at that moment, she really believed that God existed in this world.

She hurried forward, clasped her hands together, and said sincerely.

"Master, please give me some pointers."

The monk just said: "Everything has its own destiny."

After saying this, the monk clasped his hands together, lowered his brows and said.

"Amitabha, good, good!"

He turned around and walked slowly and peacefully towards the meditation room.

Shen Yueyao wanted to chase him and ask what the red string meant? Could she go back?

But a little monk ran over and stopped him, clasping his hands together.

"Donor, Master Kongzhi does not like to be disturbed, so I hope you will respect yourself."

Shen Yueyao and Jin'er looked at each other, both of them were confused, their long eyelashes flickered slightly, and they asked in disbelief.

"Who do you think he is?"

The young monk replied: "Master Kongzhi."

Jin Er whispered, "Isn't he a demon monk?"

The young monk's six senses were not pure yet, and when he heard Jin'er say that Master Kongzhi was a demon monk, he glared at her.

"Master Kongzhi is an enlightened monk, so please be careful with your words."

Shen Yueyao asked doubtfully.

"No, I heard that Master Kongzhi is not a high monk in Jinfa Temple?"

"Master Kongzhi has traveled all over the world and now he has come to our Jingxin Temple to stay."

Shen Yueyao nodded, not quite understanding, and thought that she must have met the real person.

Asked: "Can I go in and find him?"

The young monk shook his head and said, "Master Kongzhi does not see visitors."

"Didn't he just meet me? He also gave me a red string."

"That is the donor's fate. Since Master Kongzhi has entered the meditation room, it means that the fate between him and the donor has ended. Please go down the mountain."
