Chapter 209: The Rise Of The Black Sun [Part 2]
Chapter 209: The Rise Of The Black Sun [Part 2]
Everyone hurried to the ramparts to watch the battle between Brann and Logan.
Even the chieftains of the high-ranking tribes hurried down from their villas. Although they could still watch the battle from their spot, they were too high up on the mountain to get a clear view.
Upon arriving at the ramparts, they approached Leone and stood by his side.
"Is this one of your trump cards?" Hagen asked with a smile.
"One of many," Leone replied, his attention focused on Brann.
"Now I understand why Gundar praises you so much," Hagen stated. "Looks like he has a valid reason for extending an offer of alliance to you."
Malik and the other chieftains subtly paid close attention to Hagen and Leone’s discussion.
Even Godwin and Tianna, who stood not far from them, were secretly listening to the conversation.
To everyone’s disappointment, Leone didn’t answer, distracted by the impending start of the battle.
"Logan, go all out and fight as if your life depends on it," Brann said. "I have a score to settle with you, so I won’t hold back."
The Orc Champion narrowed his eyes at those words. His instincts told him that he should take this fight seriously. It was common sense. After all, his opponent was very strong.
"Good!" Logan smirked. "It’s been a while since I’ve received a challenge. I just hope you won’t break so easily."
"Oh, trust me. That won’t be happening."
"We’ll see about that."
The two combatants sneered at each other. Then, as if coming to an understanding, the two charged at each other and locked hands.
Both of them intended to overwhelm the other through brute strength.
Logan decided to follow his opponent’s advice and go all out at the start. However, despite fighting seriously, he failed to overpower Brann!
As for Brann, he had no intention of holding back either. He needed to defeat—no, he needed to crush Logan in front of the Ravage Tribe.
And he would do that today. With his newfound strength, showing everyone that the Aslan Tribe had someone whom they could rely on!
Orcs only respected those who were stronger than them. That was why the Ravage Tribe had the policy of "fight first, talk later".
Realizing that he was losing in a contest of strength, Logan didn’t think twice before shifting tactics, driving his knee into Brann’s stomach.
In response, Brann twisted his body at the last second, causing the blow to slide off his side.
Before Logan could pull back, Brann yanked him forward and rammed his forehead into the Orc Champion’s face with a savage headbutt, making the latter cry out in pain.
There was no such thing as playing dirty with the Orcs. When they fought, anything went. Brann understood this very much. As a barbarian, this wasn’t his first time fighting against Orcs.
Reeling from the pain, Logan decided to counter.
But Brann didn’t let him.
Before Logan could move, Brann had pulled him over again, driving another headbutt into his face.
Leone’s new vassal surpassed the Orc Champion’s strength. As for fighting experience, Brann had plenty of it.
Without even an ounce of hesitation, Brann lifted Logan’s body off the ground before turning around to let his tail smash against the side of the Orc Champion’s body, sending him crashing through the trees in the forest.
The Dire Bear, Fury, who happened to be sleeping on the path where Logan was sent flying, woke up from the loud noise around it.
The disgruntled bear stood up on its hind legs and roared out in anger. It then glared at the culprit who caused the noise with bloodshot eyes. Brann was standing only a meter away from it.
Anyone who disturbed the Dire Bear’s sleep would pay! They would be crushed, pulverized, and turned into meat paste by its overwhelming might!
However, when Fury saw the three-meter-tall figure radiating a strength that surpassed it by leagues, the Dire Bear blinked once, then twice. After a little thinking, it realized that it couldn’t turn Brann into meat paste even if it wanted to.
The two stared at each other for a few seconds. Then, Brann smirked at the bear, who was struggling on what to do next.
Fury, fully knowing it was hopelessly outmatched, calmly placed its paws on Brann’s shoulder and growled softly.
"Good day, Sir. Nice weather we’re having," Fury said in Dire Bear language. "Did I disturb your fight? My apologies. Please, carry on. I’ll walk myself out."
The Dire Bear then stood on its four legs and walked away as if it were just taking a casual stroll.
When the squirrels in the forest saw this scene, they all facepalmed. They didn’t know how to react to the strategic retreat of the mighty bear, which sometimes gave them honey, after putting on a brave front.
After watching the bear leave, Brann shifted his attention in the direction where the Orc Champion lay.
"Do you plan to sleep there all night?" Brann asked, not even moving from his spot. "I don’t mind, but you still have a trump card, don’t you?"
"Stop talking, human." Logan propped himself up from the ground before wiping off the blood that seeped from the corner of his lips with the back of his hand. "I don’t need mercy from you."
The Orc Champion then let out a mighty roar, activating Champion’s Rage, an ability that drastically increased all of his stats by 100% for a short period of time.
Thinking it was not going to be enough, he stacked it with another one of his skills, Stone Skin, which made his body harder than stone!
With a war cry that shook the entire forest, Logan swiftly lunged toward Brann like a cannonball.
The Orc Champion wanted to wipe the smug smile off the human’s face. It was really annoying. He felt like Brann was mocking him with his gaze.
With a punch that could obliterate a boulder, Logan unleashed a deadly blow aimed at Brann’s chest.
His opponent waited until the very last second to move to the side before grabbing the Orc’s arm and slamming him to the ground.
The impact was so strong that the ground dented into Logan’s shape.
Before Logan could even make sense of what had just happened, his opponent had already grabbed his feet, raised him to the air, and slammed him to the ground once more with so much force that another crater was formed.
"Your fight earlier gave me inspiration," Brann said as he lifted the Orc Champion one more time. "Now I know why you did it. It feels good slamming your foe to the ground like this."
As if to prove his words, Brann slammed the Orc Champion six more times to the ground before throwing Logan toward the base of the mountain, destroying the path of trees in his wake.
The Orcs watched as their Champion crashed to the ground and bounced several times before finally slamming into the mountain, breaking his momentum.
Everyone watched this devastating scene in silence. Soon, Brann casually entered their line of sight.
Blitz then flew down the mountain and landed beside the Orc. It then slammed its little paw on the ground repeatedly like a boxing referee counting a knockout.
After ten counts, the Orc Champion still hadn’t moved—not even a twitch.
With that, the flying squirrel deemed that the victor was none other than its Master’s new vassal.
*Squeak!*
Blitz declared Brann’s win, making Leone smile helplessly at his little vassal’s antics.
"With this, we’re even," Brann declared. "One win, one loss. If you want to challenge me again, you can come find me anytime."
He then approached the fallen Orc Champion and picked him up, slinging him over his shoulder.
A moment later, black flames erupted from Brann’s back, creating a pair of wings that propelled him upward.
He then flew past the ramparts and gently placed the Orc Champion on the ground so that Rasta and the other Orc Shamans could tend to their leader.
Knowing that everyone’s gaze was locked in his direction at that moment, Brann gave Hagen and Malik a friendly smile.
Back then, they were people he was not worthy to interact with as equals.
But now, things had changed.
He might no longer be a chieftain. But, just like the Orcs, barbarians also recognized strength.
Today, everyone there would remember his name. Moving forward, they would need to think twice before targeting the Aslan Tribe. They could still try. But Brann would be there to teach them all a lesson they would never forget.
