"Ugh..." The man's eyes bulged, and he almost vomited up the alcohol mixed with food residue in his stomach. He curled up and collapsed to the ground in pain.
The whole process took only a dozen seconds. In the blink of an eye, the three accomplices who had surrounded them were all lying on the ground groaning, unable to fight.
Yuki Takada's movements were clean and efficient, without any unnecessary actions. Each move was precisely aimed at the part of the body that would render the opponent incapacitated most quickly, which was clearly the result of rigorous training.
The scene was silent, save for the faint crackling of the charcoal fire in the oven and the painful groans of a few people on the ground.
The tall man who had initially held the bottle was completely stunned; his disdain and arrogance had been replaced by astonishment and a hint of fear.
His hand holding the bottle trembled slightly as he watched Yuki Takada walk towards him again, his calm gaze now appearing to him like that of a villain.
"You...you stay away!" he shouted, his voice trembling with fear, instinctively pointing the broken bottle at Takada Yuuki.
Yuuki Takada seemed not to hear him, his steps steady, his gaze fixed on the other person: "Want to continue?"
"Or are you going to let it go on your own?"
He remained calm, but the oppressive aura emanating from him made the tall young man almost unable to breathe.
Compared to how easily he had dealt with his three companions, he knew he had no chance of winning.
With a clang, the broken bottle finally slipped from his trembling hand and fell to the ground.
Yuuki Takada then stopped and stood in front of him, saying calmly, "Very good. Now, put your hands behind your head and squat down."
The boy, as if hypnotized, obediently did as instructed.
Only then did Sato Miwako and Miyamoto Yumi seem to recover from the swift and fierce duel they had just fought.
Sato Miwako immediately stepped forward, took out a simple cable tie she carried with her, and skillfully tied the hands of the people on the ground and the main culprit behind their backs.
Yumi Miyamoto had already dialed the police emergency number and briefly explained the situation and location to the communications center.
Yuuki Takada looked around to make sure there were no more threats before relaxing slightly and straightening his slightly disheveled sleeves, as if he had only done something insignificant.
The yakitori stall owner and other diners were stunned. After a moment, a small murmur of surprise and discussion broke out.
"So...so awesome!"
"It's just like an action movie!"
After tying up the last person, Sato Miwako stood up and looked at Takada Yuki, her eyes flashing with a complex light—concern, relief, and undisguised admiration.
"Takada-senpai, are you alright?" She quickly walked to his side and asked in a low voice.
Yuuki Takada turned his head and met her worried gaze. The coldness in his eyes melted instantly, and he returned to the gentleness she knew: "It's nothing, just a few small fry who got drunk and caused trouble."
Yumi Miyamoto also came over and nudged Takada lightly with her elbow, teasingly saying:
"Wow, Inspector Takada, I didn't know you were such a good fighter! Those moves you just made were so cool!"
"Isn't that right, Miwako?" she said, winking mischievously at Sato.
Sato Miwako's cheeks flushed slightly, and she didn't reply, but her eyes said it all.
Yuuki Takada simply smiled, his gaze returning to the subdued men, his tone regaining its usual calmness as he worked: "Wait for the patrol car to arrive."
After handing over some matters with the police officers in the patrol car, the three of them returned to the yakitori stand and continued eating.
"I must say, tonight's yakitori meal was quite a lively affair."
The owner of the yakitori stall came up and brought over a plate of grilled chicken leg skewers, along with several pitchers of beer.
Upon seeing this, Yumi Miyamoto immediately questioned, "Boss, I don't remember we ordered any of these things before."
The boss chuckled and said, "It's just that this police officer was here, otherwise things would have gotten too serious. Consider this my treat for you officers."
"I see," Miyamoto Yumi said. "Then I thank you on his behalf."
Then, Yumi Miyamoto turned around and gave him a thumbs up: "Indeed, if it weren't for you, tonight might have been a real problem."
"However... Senior Takada, I still think that if you encounter similar situations in the future, you should try not to get involved blindly."
"In case someone is drunk and even has a weapon, it's very dangerous. I think it's better to leave this kind of thing to professionals. Call the police directly..."
"No, what are you thinking?" Takada Yuki was speechless for a moment, cold sweat pouring down his back. "I am a police officer. Besides, the missions I usually carry out are much more complicated than these things. This time, I just dealt with a small matter on the side."
After all that commotion, everyone felt much more relaxed and happy.
So Yuuki Takada sat back down next to Miwako Sato and continued picking out skewers for her to eat.
Everyone was talking at once.
Chapter 74 Duang~
This went on until about 10:30 p.m., and before we knew it, it was very late at night.
Looking at the empty beer and the bare bamboo skewers in front of me.
Yuuki Takada then realized that it was late at night. He glanced at the watch on his wrist and said, "It's getting late. Shouldn't we head back?"
Sato Miwako yawned and said, "Time flies so fast, we really should go back."
Looking at Miyamoto Yumi beside him, he found that she had collapsed and fallen asleep on the table.
After paying, Yuki Takada turned around, but Miwako Sato tugged at his sleeve. "Takada-senpai, although I have a very reluctant request, it would be very unsafe for Yumi to be out there in her condition."
"So what you mean is...?"
"Takada-senpai, why don't you carry Yumi on your back and we'll take her home together?" Sato Miwako said with concern.
Seeing Miyamoto Yumi passed out drunk on the table, Takada Yuuki, out of kindness, nodded and agreed.
As Miwako Sato said, there will always be one or two ill-intentioned people on the street.
If they were to actually run into it, then he and Sato Miwako would bear an inescapable responsibility.
So, the two packed their things, and with the help of Miwako Sato, Yuki Takada carried Yumi Miyamoto away from the barbecue stand.
The streets were much quieter late at night than in the evening, and the streetlights cast long shadows of the three people.
Yuki Takada carefully carried Yumi Miyamoto on his back, perhaps because of the bumpy road.
Suddenly...
duang~
A violent shaking sensation caused his back to sway slightly.
Feeling that soft texture, I never would have guessed that Yumi Miyamoto was quite well-endowed!
Yuki Takada immediately thought of putting Yumi Miyamoto down, but looking at Miwako Sato next to him, he gave up the idea.
Forget it...
Anyway, we won't lose money.
"Well…"
"One more cup, please... Miwako..." Miyamoto Yumi on her back mumbled incoherently in her sleep, and subconsciously patted Takada Yuki's shoulder, her mind seemingly on the yakitori stand.
"I'm sorry, Takada-senpai, I'm really sorry to have troubled you today." Sato Miwako smiled helplessly: "Yumi's alcohol tolerance is still so poor, but her drinking manners are... as bold as ever."
"She's always the first to urge us to drink, and then she's the first to pass out. But thank you for your hard work today, Takada-senpai."
"It's alright, we can't just leave her there." Takada Yuki adjusted his position to make Miyamoto Yumi more comfortable. "Speaking of which, her house is in this direction, right?"
"I remember it seemed like..."
"Yes, turn left at the next intersection, and it'll be there in about ten minutes," Sato Miwako confirmed.
The cool night breeze slightly dispelled the sweltering heat of the summer night.
Most of the shops on both sides of the street were closed, with only 24-hour convenience stores and vending machines still lit up.
Occasionally, a vehicle would drive by, and the sound of its tires rubbing against the ground was particularly clear.
Just as we were passing through a dimly lit alley, something unexpected happened!
"boom!"
A muffled thud, like the sound of something heavy falling to the ground, was followed by a suppressed gasp and a flurry of footsteps coming from the alley.
Yuki Takada and Miwako Sato stopped almost simultaneously, exchanging a wary glance—a instinctive reaction for police officers.
Their bodies tensed instantly, and they went into a state of alert.
"What's that sound?" Sato Miwako asked in a low voice, her hand unconsciously reaching for her bag, where her police manual and... although she didn't bring her service weapon off duty, she still had her pepper spray.
Yuki Takada frowned and listened intently.
There seemed to be sounds of struggling and sobbing coming from the alley.
"I don't know, but something's not right."
He instinctively wanted to put Miyamoto Yumi down from his back and hand her to Sato Miwako so that he could go forward and check on her.
However, before they could take any action, a figure stumbled out of the alley and nearly bumped into them.
He was a young man who looked very disheveled, his clothes were a little messy, and his face showed a panicked expression.
"Help...help!" He saw Takada Yuki and Sato Miwako and cried out desperately, his voice trembling, as if he had seen saviors. "Someone is chasing me! They stole my things!"
Almost simultaneously, two more men wearing black hoodies and masks covering most of their faces rushed out of the alley. They seemed to be holding something shiny, probably a gun or something similar, and their eyes were fierce.
Hey! You guys, mind your own business!
"Otherwise, I'll rob all of you too."
One of the thugs yelled at Yuki Takada and his friends, trying to threaten them not to get involved.
This sudden situation instantly created a tense atmosphere.
Yuki Takada's heart sank; just what he feared most had come to pass.
Normally, he and Sato Miwako would be more than capable of dealing with such petty thieves.
But now, carrying the completely unconscious Miyamoto Yumi on his back, his movements are greatly restricted, almost equivalent to fighting with a heavy load.
Although Sato Miwako is a skilled fighter, protecting Miyamoto Yumi and dealing with two armed thugs at the same time is extremely risky.
Sato Miwako clearly realized this as well. She quickly stepped forward, blocking Takada and Yumi, and simultaneously brandished her police handbook, shouting sternly, "Police! Don't move! Put down your weapons!"
She tried to intimidate the other party with her identity.
Upon hearing the word "police," the two thugs visibly hesitated and stopped in their tracks.
