Chapter 329 Christmas is Coming
Chapter 329 Christmas is Coming
The holiday schedules for American students and those for students at the University of Tokyo are quite different. In terms of holiday length, there are four holidays a year: a two-week spring break in March, summer break from the end of May to the end of August, a Thanksgiving holiday of five to ten days in November, and a winter break of two to three weeks, which also includes Christmas.
It's worth mentioning that, with Christmas approaching, Thor, whom everyone thought was off protecting his father Odin as he slept, actually returned.
"The Asgardian calendar is different from that of Midgard. The last month of winter in Asgard begins on a Friday between January 19th and 25th in your calendar. The Frost Giants become active and prepare to invade Asgard. Then, they launch a seven-day attack on Asgard during the last week of the month, attempting to harm Asgard when the Allfathers are at their weakest."
At the top of Avengers Tower, Tony was leading preparations for the Avengers' first-ever Christmas party. Thor opened a can of beer and took a sip, looking at the beer and remarking, "When I came to Midgard a couple of years ago, I thought it was the same as it was a thousand years ago. I drank some beer and smashed my glass on the ground, which startled Jane."
"Jane, that sounds like a girl's name." The captain, sketching the entire Avengers team, suddenly suggested, "How about we invite her for Christmas, Thor? There aren't enough people for a Christmas dinner with just the few of us here."
The Avengers' Christmas dinner is to be held a day earlier because many people actually have to go home for Christmas. Except for Captain America, who is single, and Thor, who is not home, almost everyone has somewhere to go, so they have to start having fun a day earlier.
"I'm not so sure... This is a warrior's banquet, but I see a willpower in her that is no less than that of a warrior, so I think, perhaps it's acceptable."
Tony, standing to the side, gave Thor a disdainful look. If he wanted to invite the girl, he should have just said so directly. Why was he beating around the bush like this?
"Hank and Janet went shopping. I bet the mall must be torture for Hank. Oh wait, I guess they're here."
As Tony spoke, he glanced at the elevator, but instead of Ant-Man and the Wasp, a young Black couple stepped in. Captain America was the most surprised and was the first to stand up and greet them: "Your Majesty T'Challa? Queen Ororo? I really didn't expect this..."
"I'm an Avenger too, Steve. You guys gave me an Avenger identity card, so of course I can come and see."
After T'Challa shook hands with the captain in a friendly manner, he looked at Tony and said, "Tony, Suri is really looking forward to the gift you've prepared for her. She believes that Tony Stark can prepare a truly excellent gift for her."
"Uh, yeah, that little girl is not easy to deal with." Tony immediately changed the subject, turning to the Avengers that T'Challa had not seen before: "T'Challa, this is Thor, the Thunder Prince from Asgard."
"It's the God of Thunder, but it's a pleasure to meet you, T'Challa. I can feel Buster's blessing and your noble qualities as a warrior." Thor smiled, not even bothering to take Tony's banter seriously, while Tony continued his introduction: "And over there, hanging ribbons on the wall, is Peter Parker, our little Spider-Man. His merchandise sells for more than all of us combined."
Peter greeted T'Challa. If you think about it, this seems to be the first time the entire Avengers have been present. In addition to the original A6, two new members, Spider-Man and Black Panther, are also there.
So if you calculate it that way, the Avengers actually only have eight people.
"Why don't I see Dr. Banner? Didn't he come?"
"Um, actually, there's no Banner right now, only Hulk." Tony said, while directing his Jarvis to put the Christmas tree in place. "Hulk just watched a horror movie, laughed his head off, and is now sleeping in his room."
"Hulk is awake."
The big guy emerged from his specially made room, carrying a bucket of popcorn he'd probably left over from earlier, eating as he went. Upon seeing Black Panther, Hulk approached, bent down, and stared at T'Challa for a moment before suddenly laughing, "The little black cat's here, hahaha."
"Hey, Hulk?"
Peter, standing on the ceiling and pulling on the fairy lights, asked, "Could you put the Christmas star on top of the Christmas tree?"
Hulk walked to the conference table, took out a Christmas star from a pile of clutter, went to the Christmas tree that was almost as tall as himself, put the Christmas star on top of the tree, then turned around and grinned at Peter, who gave Hulk a thumbs up.
Just then, the elevator doors opened again, and Ant-Man walked in carrying a huge pile of things his girlfriend had bought. Janet, who was carrying a bag, saw Ororo and went up to hug her.
"When we have the banquet tomorrow, everyone can bring some people. Rhodey is coming too. Don't look down on him just because he's a Pentagon spy. The American Avengers don't have Christmas parties or anything like that, so he has nowhere to go. Captain, do you have anyone you can bring?"
"Um... I was planning to invite Romanoff and Clint, but Romanoff said you don't like her, Tony. And Clint has to deal with his, you know, new member. Coulson, no time."
The captain scratched his head helplessly. He would occasionally join Nick Fury's operations, but he was only really familiar with these two people at S.H.I.E.L.D. Tony then looked at Hank and Janet. Without a doubt, Janet's social circle was the same as his own.
"Looks like I'll be spending Christmas with Pepper twice, once in New York and once in California. Thor brought a girl, and who else, Hulk?"
"No, most of Hulk's friends are here. The rest will only cause them trouble."
"Okay." Tony finally looked at Peter: "Are you planning to bring a girl, Peter? That blonde girl you brought last time, the one you spent two weeks traveling with in a parallel universe, or maybe that Asian girl? Or perhaps..."
"Uh, actually I wasn't planning on bringing it. Oh, wait a minute." Peter said, taking out his phone. "Cyclops wants me to go to Xavier's Academy of Geniuses. He says it's to express his gratitude and he has a gift for me."
"Perfect timing, I was just about to head back to the academy too," Storm Ororo said with a smile, but before she could finish, the alarm went off. Jarvis immediately reported the situation.
[Sir, there are cases of supernatural crimes occurring in New York City.]
"Who's so bold as to cause trouble before Christmas?"
Based on the known information, Wilbur Day, a stilt walker, uses a pair of retractable stilt boots to commit crimes.
Tony looked at the captain, who stood up with a smile, looking at the Avengers who were all assembled for the first time.
"Alright, the last operation before Christmas, objective: capture the stilt walkers. Avengers, assemble!"
