Chapter 407: Two Villainess, One Sanctum
Chapter 407: Two Villainess, One Sanctum
After walking for a couple of hours of walking, it didn’t seem like we would be reaching the end of the bridge anytime soon, in fact, the middle of it seemed so far away.
Meanwhile, the little guy began to tremble as the darkness shrouded the sky, and the cold winds climbed higher, blowing with fierceness.
Sulin studied him as we continued to walk, after a dozen minutes or so, she paused and suggested.
"How about we rest here for the night?"
She turned to the side of the bridge, where one of the gigantic column legs that held it was connected, forming some kind of massive monolith, above it was a flickering lamp.
The overhead lamps lined forward and even from behind like that, in every two hundred meters. I lost count after we passed about ten of those things.
I observed the place and the situation around us for a bit.
The ground of the bridge was packed with snow, the surrounding itself was vast, dark and empty. Nothing, there was nothing at all, across the vast plain, just howling winds and an unbearable cold.
"Alright... I think it works."
"Yay! This is good, I thought I was going to collapse."
Harter was the first to collapse beside the monolith. He then removed the gloves from his hand, revealing a silver ring, the ring shimmered with a fine light and right in front of him, several lsilver sparks began to fly around, forming something in their embrace.
When the sparks vanished, there was a bunch of thick fur blankets, a water bottle and a vacuum flask.
He smiled and grabbed one of the furred blankets and wrapped it around himself, he offered Sulin one of them and then turned to me with a smile.
"Ahyah... I can’t afford to leave my benefactor in cold, do you need one of those or will those flames of yours be enough?"
I gave him a look of suspicion.
’This bastard...’
I exhaled and took one of the blanket. Then stared at the flask.
He released a smug grin as he shifted it closer to himself.
"This is one in a million bottomless food flask, that was created by my Hammerfeld family, asides from the fact that it can store enough food to feed an entire village, it has a cooling and warming effect that works with the atmospheric temperature. It can freeze and warm the food stored in there, using the preservation systems of the Deep Ice Crystals."
Half of what he said sounded like jargon to me. But it wasn’t so difficult to figure out.
I didn’t need a second thought to figure out how special that vacuum flask was.
He suddenly shifted the flask behind his back, glaring at me.
"This is not for sale, and don’t you dare ask..."
I gave him a look of hidden envy and turned away from it, settling down myself beside the other side of the monolith, while he and Sulin settled at one corner.
I wrapped myself with the blanket and closed my eyes, diving inside my Soul Sanctum.
I’ve rarely been around especially after my recent unexpected update.
When I entered the Nave the first thing that resounded was the vicious and cold strike metal. It rang against the walls of the Nave and even the tall white columns were not spared, storming the entire place with fierce sound and force.
For a moment, I was overwhelmed by the sheer pressure then I turned to the front, a lot of the pews had been knocked over and shattered. My eyes turned towards the upper level of the Nave, in that instant, a furious vibration moved against the entire Nave and some was sent flying towards the upper level with a bunch of broken pews flying in every direction.
She slammed her back against one of the pillars towards the front, and her entire body fell.
But before she could land, she vanished.
Something moved again in front. It moved with a tremendous force and speed. The benches were literally shredded of its path. Then I saw crimson hair flow, as the speed came to a furiously abrupt halt, slamming against the other person, White Feather as she appeared out of nowhere.
Kassie had moved like she knew exactly where she was going to land and then gave a one devastating hit.
White Feather’s eyes widened as Kassie’s elbow connected with her chest. She careened instantly, hitting the column behind her, an explosion of white dust rolled out swiftly, covering half of the Nave.
I shielded my face from the dust, crossing my hands before my eyes.
The land entire place shuddered as White Feather hit the ground.
’Oh Gods! Why are they fighting?!’
It felt like I had done a big mistake and not considered the possibility of this.
They both barely had a moment of reprieve and the next thing that I heard, even as the entire hall was choked with white dust, another terrifying shockwave caused the Nave to shake furiously again.
The column trembled and for a moment looked like they were going to break apart and crumble.
’Forget them, what the fuck are they doing to my Sanctum!’
The moment, I thought that a vindictive anger almost radiated in me. But I felt the entire Sanctum respond to that slight spike in emotion.
White Feather and Kassie had torn away from each other and were moving with furious speed to clash against each other with their fists, in that moment though, the distance between them instantly broadened and continued to expand that the further they ran, the farther they were from each other.
Several columns plunged out of the ground one after the other, turning the expansive distance between the two of them into a forest of columns. Both of them were caught somewhere in between it, unable to move because of the Column that had grown so close to each other, catching them amidst it.
Kassie’s fist was already flying towards the pillar before her when my voice resounded against the hall.
"STOP!"
