Chapter 685: The Great Relocation
Chapter 685: The Great Relocation
"Tsk. As expected, there’s no resting easy with these wolves and vultures on the field..."
As the top-level teams joined the scramble, the number of teams willing to settle in the Neon Star Public Trading Zone finally plateaued.
"What a hateful bunch." Julius, standing beside Nash, muttered in frustration.
Every high-level team was a goldmine waiting to be tapped. With the top-level teams moving in, it was no different from having their future prospects stolen right out from under them.
"Alright, don’t dwell on it too much. We already have enough headaches to worry about." Nash shook his head.
It was a pity, but not catastrophic. They already had over a thousand cosmic team alliances, each at least a tenth of their size.
Managing such a massive coalition on their own was no small task, even if the top-level teams had stayed out of it, Nash would have had to stop accepting new teams sooner or later.
Soon, before it was their turn, he notified every team willing to settle in the public trading zone of its coordinates.
Looking at the countdown for their turn at the teleportation array, only a few minutes remained.
"Are the people from the Sun Star Void Area ready?" Nash asked Julius one last time.
"Yes. Everyone has been evacuated from the refuge. The personnel at the Azure Heaven Public Trading Zone returned a few hours ago."
From the Neon Towers to their headquarters, everything had been evacuated.
Fortunately, the debt they had taken on to purchase the land had been cleared by Marcellin. As for the other debts, they would still need to be settled in due time.
"Good. Prepare for departure." Nash said solemnly.
Soon after, filled with anticipation, their fleet was enveloped by an overwhelming cascade of spatial law as they vanished on the spot.
---
On the other side, the Sun Star Void Area was precisely locked and located by the array, the same shimmering filaments wrapping around it.
Watching as the sky suddenly darkened, everyone remaining on the ground held their breath.
Then, just a few seconds later, as the void tore open, they knew they were already somewhere else entirely.
Yet, staring out into the ever-shifting void around them, they couldn’t quite process it for a moment.
"Wait, isn’t that the fleet the Supreme Leader departed with?"
Not far ahead was a fleet of ten thousand Tier 8 battleships, encircling the territory to shield them from the oncoming waves of dark beasts.
"There’s something else! It looks like a massive platform!"
Besides the fleet, those with keen senses caught sight of a vast expanse of land in the distance.
"Is that the public trading zone the Supreme Leader mentioned?"
"It has to be!"
"Enough standing around! Mobilize all large-scale defensive weapons and battleships according to protocol!" The remaining Rank Two leaders commanded through the intercom.
With the appearance of the Sun Star Void Area, brimming with vitality, the dark beasts had gone berserk. From every direction, massive swarms surged forward towards them.
"Stand down. This area has already been cleared." Nash’s voice rang through the intercom.
Boarding the Void Pulse, Nash drove into the Sun Star Void Area and resumed command. Having already swept this relay point of most dark beasts, even a swarming attack was manageable.
Furthermore, with 15 defensive modules of the Neon Defense System deployed, even if the swarms doubled several times over, it could handle them with ease.
However, this was only their first transfer, a relay point on the way to their true destination.
As another veil of spatial filaments began to envelop the area, everyone was reminded of the sequence of their plan. However, rather than relaxing, they grew more tense and solemn.
Seeing this, Nash nodded in satisfaction.
The area they were being transported to was an entirely uncharted wild void area.
Compared to this relay point, the danger of where they were headed was a hundred, perhaps even a thousand times greater.
They would be transferred directly to the edge of a Forbidden Zone, without any prior scouting or established defensive perimeter.
Nash could barely imagine what dangers awaited them. And yet, compared to facing a major team or a coalition of top-level teams head-on, hiding in these uncharted lands, untouched by the reach of outside forces, was the far better choice.
More importantly, the reason Nash had chosen such a dangerous location was resources.
Even the outskirts of a Forbidden Zone held resources sufficient to sustain them for tens of thousands of years.
This is tens of thousands of years!
After catching a glimpse of the map Primos had shown him, he had seen that the resources surrounding each Forbidden Zone were so abundant that it seemed almost impossible.
Furthermore, if a major team could occupy a Forbidden Zone, why couldn’t he at least live at its edge?
Of course, Nash wasn’t reckless enough to charge in without preparation.
Long before the Altier Convention, after his return, everyone had already begun setting the Neon Defense System throughout the Sun Star Void.
With a vast workforce and the aid of mother core ships, the number of defensive modules laid across their territory had reached a staggering 3,500.
That meant even if they faced a wave of a million Tier 8 dark beasts, they could hold firm without taking a single point of damage.
Just picturing all those defensive modules firing in every direction at once, he truly couldn’t imagine how anything could breach that wall.
Lost in thought, he watched the filaments slowly wind around the entirety of the Sun Star Void Area.
"This will take a while..."
Unlike the domain-level teleportation arrays that completed in seconds, the smaller teleportation station they had built would likely take several days to envelop everything.
In the future, I’ll need to develop a more efficient teleportation array. Nash filed the thought away.
Soon, with everyone holding their breath in tense silence, the days crept slowly by.
Watching the filaments of space draw close, everyone’s heart pounded a little louder.
"It’s almost time..."
