Chapter 269 First Encounter with the Young Sirius
Chapter 269 First Encounter with the Young Sirius
Walking with Sirius Black on the way to the market, a gentle breeze brought a sense of comfort.
The road wasn't long, after all, the market wasn't far from his home.
Along the way, our conversation flowed like leaping musical notes, covering everything from astronomy and geography to interesting anecdotes in life.
Sirius always managed to find interesting viewpoints that captivated me, and I would occasionally chime in with my own thoughts, filling the path with laughter during our back-and-forth conversation.
Finally, the bustling scene of the market came into view.
The crowds were bustling, and the stalls were filled with a dazzling array of goods.
I discovered that most of the people in this market were Muggles.
They wore ordinary clothes, spoke everyday language, and were immersed in a simple yet beautiful atmosphere of life.
As Sirius walked beside me, I couldn't help but wonder if he thought I was a Muggle.
That's not surprising. I deliberately hid the fact that I could use magic, and acted like an ordinary child.
Sirius would glance at me every now and then, his eyes filled with curiosity and friendliness. Perhaps in his mind, I was just a Muggle friend he had met by chance and who was strolling through the market with him.
We moved between the various stalls.
There were vendors selling fresh fruit, with bright red apples and golden pears emitting an enticing aroma; there were vendors selling handmade jewelry, with sparkling beads and delicate chains attracting the attention of many girls; and there were vendors selling snacks, with the aroma of grilled sausages filling the air, making people unable to resist swallowing their saliva.
Sirius looked around with great interest, seemingly fascinated by the things in the Muggle world.
We stopped at a stall selling used books. He picked up a somewhat worn book, flipped through its contents, and looked on with great interest.
I stood aside, observing him. This free-spirited and unrestrained person in the magical world was now like a curious child in the Muggle market.
After wandering around for a while, we found a corner to sit down and rest. I took out some change from my pocket, bought two bottles of soda, and handed one to him.
"Shouldn't I be the one paying?" Sirius still remembered the time he bumped into me.
"It's okay, can I hang out with you again tomorrow?" I wasn't just here for this meeting; I was planning to get to know Sirius better over time.
"Of course, are you a kid who lives nearby?" Although Sirius was from a pure-blood family, for some reason, he felt a strong liking for the boy in front of him.
"Yes, I just moved to this neighborhood today." I told a small lie because it was only this time of day and I hadn't yet gone back to my villa to ask Butler Chen for arrangements.
We drank our sodas while watching the people come and go at the market.
“By the way, it seems we haven’t introduced ourselves yet. My name is Sirius Black, and yours is Sirius Black.” Sirius said to me with a smile.
"Elsa Hall, you can call me Elsa." I slightly changed one word; Sirius still doesn't know me, Elsa.
As the sun gradually set, it bathed the entire market in a golden glow, making everything feel incredibly warm and inviting.
Although Sirius may think I'm a Muggle, that doesn't stop us from enjoying this wonderful time together.
In this market, there are no conflicts or troubles of the magical world, only simple joy and pure communication.
Perhaps, whether in the magical world or the Muggle world, the genuine emotions and shared experiences between people are the most precious.
As darkness fell, we got up and began our journey home.
Along the way, I followed Sirius quietly, the stone path beneath my feet glowing with a warm orange light in the afterglow of the setting sun.
Neither of us spoke. This silence wasn't awkward; rather, it carried a tacit understanding and reluctance to part ways.
Finally, we arrived at his doorstep.
It was a simple yet elegant house, with vines climbing the exterior walls and carved iron gates, all bearing the marks of time.
This isn't the first time I've seen Blake's old house; it brings back a lot of memories.
Sirius stopped and turned around, and I stopped as well.
He had his hands in his pockets, looked up at me slightly, and had a faint smile on his face, but there was a hint of loneliness hidden in that smile.
Sirius is not yet enrolled at Hogwarts, and he hasn't met James Potter and the others yet.
Today, I am the first friend of his age group that he has made.
"I'll leave it here." His voice was soft, but it felt like it struck my heart hard.
"Okay," I replied, all the words I wanted to say condensed into this single, simple word.
A gentle breeze swept by, ruffling his hair, with a few strands dancing wildly in the wind.
I looked at him, not wanting to miss a single detail.
His deep eyes, like twinkling stars in the night sky, were filled with longing; beneath his high nose, the slightly upturned corners of his mouth carried his usual unruliness and carefree spirit.
"See you tomorrow." Sirius broke the silence, reaching out to gently pat my shoulder.
"Okay, I'll come visit you again tomorrow," I replied hastily, afraid that if I answered too slowly, I would lose this promise.
"Okay, I'll wait for you at home." His eyes were incredibly serious, as if he were making an eternal vow to me.
"Alright, stop looking so gloomy. It's not like we're never going to see each other again," Sirius joked with a smile, trying to ease the somewhat heavy atmosphere.
I forced a smile. "Okay, see you tomorrow."
Sirius gave me one last look, then turned and slowly walked toward the front door.
I stood there, silently watching his retreating figure. Until he opened the door, went inside, and the door slowly closed, completely blocking his view.
I remained standing there, not moving an inch for a long time.
As the sun gradually set and night began to fall, my reluctance to leave grew stronger.
I looked up at the old Blake house, and I could feel as if a pair of eyes were watching me from the second-floor window.
I didn't look in that direction; I simply turned and left the vicinity of Black's old house until I was out of the magical range.
He apparated back to his villa.
"Welcome back, young master." The current butler, Chen, is very young. He is an all-around butler provided by the sugar daddy. He won't ask about what happened to me. He will only do his best to manage everything in my household.
"Butler Chen, help me acquire a detached house near the old Black mansion. I will be living there for the next year." I don't plan to restore my original appearance anymore; I intend to use this appearance as Sirius Black's white moonlight for the next year.
"Yes, young master," the young steward Chen replied respectfully, then immediately raised his hand to instruct someone to carry out the task.
