Chapter 253 Preparing for the End of the Semester
After Harry and I straightened our clothes, we opened the classroom door and walked together into the Great Hall.
It took quite a while to comfort Harry, and by the time the two of us arrived at the Great Hall, it was already quite late.
Several people I knew well were already seated at the long dining table in Gryffindor.
This really scared them. When I walked over and sat down, they all crowded around me. Even Draco, who had jumped in to sit in Slytherin, came over. He didn't care about the strange looks from his little group anymore.
"I'm sorry, did I scare you?" I looked apologetically at the people around me.
“Ayers, you really startled us this time, especially when we only saw Harry.” Fred sat down next to me immediately, with Harry sitting on the other side.
Although Harry has already talked things out with me, he's still a bit clingy.
Draco couldn't sit next to me, so he had to make do with sitting next to Cedric. Cedric was the only one in this group who wasn't a Gryffindor.
"This happened so suddenly, I didn't expect it either, and it won't happen again." I could feel the way they were all staring at me, as if they were afraid I would suddenly disappear.
“I promise I won’t let go of your hand again next time,” Harry said firmly, sitting next to him.
The others thought the same thing; they were also afraid that such a thing would happen to them, and each of them kept it silently in their hearts.
"Alright, I'm back now, so you can all relax. No matter what happens in the future, I will do everything in my power to get back to you." This is the promise I can give them; I will definitely come back for them.
"Alright, alright, let's eat first. We can talk about anything else after we finish eating." Cedric, the oldest person here, spoke up. If they kept talking like this, no one would be able to eat lunch.
We all ate our own food first, and then had the house-elves clear the table to prepare some fruit and desserts for us, as well as tea for us to chat with.
"Oh right, the Triwizard Tournament is over, right? So, is exam week coming up next?" Fred suddenly remembered.
"What? Exam week is here already?" Hermione, sitting on the far side, widened her eyes in surprise after Fred's sudden reminder.
It took her a moment to realize that exam week was coming up and she still had so many things to review.
"It's such a pleasant time that time flies by." Among our group, Cedric and I were the most composed, as we had already reviewed the knowledge points we had learned.
“Ayers, we’re waiting for your tutoring.” George wasn’t in a hurry; he knew that Ayers, as his lover, would definitely tutor him and Fred.
This has been how it's been for the past few years; they've all gotten used to knowing that I'll help them.
"Here you go, the key points for the exams for each grade." I already know the students around me very well, and I've already prepared the review materials. I even organized these materials myself during some spare time during the holidays.
“Ayers really understands us.” Fred’s hands were at their fastest at this moment. He quickly found the pile of books that were marked for him and put them directly into his backpack.
"Looks like this pile is mine." George also found the pile of books that were meant for him.
"Oh~ thank you, Senior Ayers, I didn't expect to have one too." Ron also found the book that was marked for him.
"Strange, why do I have so many fewer books than Ron?" Before finding the books that Senior Ayers had prepared for her, Hermione looked curiously at Ron's books, wondering why she felt she had so many fewer.
"Because I think Hermione is already familiar with those knowledge points, what you need most right now is to be more confident," I answered Hermione's question with a smile.
“And what about me? How come I have more than everyone else?” Cedric smiled as he looked at the books that Ayers had prepared for him in front of him.
“Cedric, this is your graduation exam, right? I’ve prepared everything for you from grades 1 to 7.” I looked at Cedric with a smile.
In fact, the books he was given were not just textbooks for review, but also a lot of small pieces of knowledge that he might need to use when he became an Auror after graduation.
I got Riddle and my brother, who has a book collection, to help me find this.
“Okay, thanks then.” Actually, Cedric was just joking with Ayers.
He also saw the names of some books I had prepared for him, many of which he had never read before.
However, I knew the names of the books and that they were all family collections.
The fact that these books are here shows that I intentionally collected them for him to see.
"Read this carefully; it will be very helpful for you to become an Auror in the future." I've prepared everything for him after graduation.
Actually, I've already written to the British Ministry of Magic and certain people in the Aurors to ask them to look after Percy and Cedric.
They should be able to adapt better to the Ministry of Magic and the Auror Department.
"By the way, Ayers, what was the final outcome of the Triwizard Tournament you and Harry participated in?" Draco hadn't expected that even he had a copy of the book. He had been quietly putting away the books before he remembered what he wanted to ask when he sat down here.
They all put aside the books I had given them, and since they wanted to know the answer to Draco's question, they didn't care that Draco had sat down next to them.
"According to Headmaster Dumbledore, because I suddenly left and didn't return for the last competition, they decided that Harry, who retrieved the Goblet of Fire, would be the winner. The remaining two challengers and I would be ranked according to the order in which we exited the maze. After their discussion, Harry came in first, I came in second, Viktor Krum came in third, and Fleur Delacour came in last. Finally, we were given corresponding rewards." After saying this long speech, I elegantly picked up my tea and took a sip.
"How could this be? It's so unfair." Among the group of people around me, only Draco could say that. He was really dissatisfied with the competition. It was unfair that someone as strong as Ayers only got second place, and what upset him the most was that Harry Potter got first place.
The three-way battle for supremacy of this piece of trash.
The others and I didn't care; they all knew I was just playing around in this three-way competition.
“I can do without this first place; it should be Ayers’s.” Harry, who had been sitting next to me without saying a word, finally spoke up. He knew why Draco Malfoy was so angry.
He himself didn't want that number one spot. If it weren't for that man, Ayers wouldn't have suddenly disappeared for a day and missed the match.
"Don't do that, Draco. I don't care about first place. I didn't even sign up myself. I'm just playing around with this competition." I said nonchalantly, ruffling Harry's hair as if to comfort him.
Actually, I know that this competition was just something Riddell arranged to see me; it was just a romantic little thing.
Draco couldn't say anything when he saw my indifference.
Harry blushed and tried to grab the hand that had been messing with his head.
"By the way, does any of you get close to students from the other two schools? They might be going back to their own schools in a few days." I quickly changed the subject. I didn't really want to talk about the Triwizard Tournament anymore, otherwise I thought Draco and Harry would start causing trouble again.
As I spoke, the others looked at Hermione, who immediately began studying the review materials I had given her.
It seems that among our group, only Hermione and Viktor Krum have any interaction.
"Huh? Why are you all looking at me?" Hermione had been engrossed in her book when she suddenly felt many eyes on her.
“Hermione, we’re a little curious about your relationship with Viktor Krum.” Fred, ever the gossip, went straight to the point and asked Hermione about her relationship with Krum.
"Huh? We're just friends." Hermione really didn't expect their conversation to turn to her.
"Didn't you two arrange to meet at the ball?" George asked Hermione curiously.
“We met by the Black Lake. He didn’t know much about Hogwarts, and I happened to be reading there, so he came over and struck up a conversation. We seemed to get along quite well, and when it came time to find dance partners for the ball, he immediately invited me. Since no one else had invited me, I accepted.” Hermione spoke calmly, glancing occasionally at Ron sitting opposite her.
I just happened to see Hermione glancing at Ron, and there seems to be something going on between them, but I shouldn't interfere, so I'll just watch the show.
"You two really are destined to meet." Ron felt a little uncomfortable for some reason, but he blurted it out without thinking.
"Quite dramatic," Cedric remarked, also sensing something amiss, as if watching a show.
"Krim is from another school, so of course we'd help him out, especially since we get along quite well." Actually, Hermione quite admired Krim, and they had a lot to talk about.
After hearing Hermione's description of Krim, Ron felt his temper rising and turned his head away.
"They might be leaving in a few days, so Hermione can say goodbye to Krim properly." Men don't realize what they're thinking unless they're provoked, right? I find it kind of cute to see Ron angry.
"I'll go see him off." Hermione also felt that she should go and see Krim off, after all, they had known each other for a while.
"I think everyone's almost finished eating, we can call it a day now." It seems there's nothing left to talk about; I need to go back and check if Severus has woken up yet.
Ron and Hermione should just let things take their course; it's not appropriate for us to interfere.
"Ayers, are you going to class this afternoon?" Fred asked as I got up to leave.
"He should be going to class. I'd better go see my headmaster now; I have something to discuss with him." I finally let go of Harry's head, stood up, and left the Great Hall.
Draco saw me leave and stood up and left as well, then went back to the Slytherin table to chat with his small group.
Fred and George were relieved to see that Ayers had returned safely. They took the review books I had given them and left, planning to take them back to their dorm room first and look at them later.
“What are you following me for?” I glanced at Alastor Moody who was following behind me.
"Do you have time to talk alone?" Alastor Moody's fake eye darted around.
"Let's go." I didn't care; I didn't know what this fake Alastor Moody had to say to me.
I followed this fake Alastor Moody to his office.
Watching him lock the door, I just carefully gripped my wand.
“This is a letter from your master.” The fake Alastor Moody handed me a letter.
I carefully took the letter he gave me and put it directly into my portable backpack.
Only after seeing the system's text description did I seriously look at the person in front of me.
“Barty Crouch Jr., I hope the next time we meet, I’ll see you as you were before.” I didn’t want to reveal the identity of this fake Alastor Moody, after all, he was also one of Riddle’s men.
Riddle is really something, can't he find a few more normal subordinates? Barty Crouch Jr. seems a bit paranoid.
“That depends on what the master decides.” Barty Crouch Jr. didn’t expect me to know his true identity, but considering that he was paired with his master, it was normal for him to know his identity.
"Well, to be honest, I don't like your current appearance, especially when I see how handsome your master is, and then look at his subordinates like this, I can hardly bear to look at them." I really didn't mean to say that, but Alastor Moody's appearance is just awkward to look at, and I don't like it at all.
“I might have a completely different face next time we meet.” Barty Crouch Jr. had a gut feeling that we might meet again.
“I’ll talk to your master. I hope to see your true appearance next time. By the way, please spare the life of the real Alastor Moody. I think Riddle has already told you that I always do what is necessary.” I looked at the fake Alastor Moody, who was standing ramrod straight, with a hint of red in my eyes and a slight upturn at the corners of my mouth.
“Yes, Mr. Ayers Hall Grindelwald.” Barty Crouch Jr. greeted me with a very standard aristocratic bow, the kind of bow a lower-ranking person would give to a higher-ranking nobleman.
Barty Crouch Jr. wouldn't dare to act rashly. Putting aside my identity, he would have to treat me with utmost respect. Moreover, he could sense an aura emanating from me that was even stronger than that of his master, Riddle.
He deeply felt that the companion of the master in front of him was even more terrifying than the master himself.
