Chapter 225 Announces the Participants in the Triwizard Tournament
Who is Gellert Grindelwald, the first Dark Lord, to Ayrs, and what is their relationship?
So this is where I was waiting! Who gave me such a big gift? Honestly, it scared everyone.
The name of the first Dark Lord, Gellert Grindelwald, is known to many; he was a very famous figure, far surpassing even Harry Potter, the savior of the British wizarding world.
I didn't even sign up for this three-way competition, but now my name is showing up. I know for sure someone is up to something.
I calmly stood up and straightened the high-end school uniform magic robe that my family's stock shop had customized.
I walked step by step toward Principal Dumbledore, who now harbors hostility towards me.
"Ayles Hall Grindelwald, the Hogwarts Hero." Headmaster Dumbledore has many questions for me, but this is not the place to ask questions.
“Headmaster Dumbledore, as a member of Hogwarts, I will not be your enemy. You don’t need to be so hostile towards me. You should remember that I saved many people from your Order of the Phoenix.” I used magic to speak words that we could both hear.
"Afterwards, I think we can have a good talk in the headmaster's office." Headmaster Dumbledore also felt that we might need to have a good talk.
"Okay." I smiled and walked towards the backstage room for the hero.
"Alright, all three of our schools have selected their representatives." Headmaster Dumbledore really had a lot of questions for me now.
Unexpectedly, before Headmaster Dumbledore could finish speaking, the flames of the burning Goblet of Fire surged again, and another white slip of paper flew out. All the professors and students in the Great Hall were stunned. Headmaster Dumbledore habitually caught the white slip of paper.
"The fourth hero, Harry Potter." This was the message Dumbledore read as he frowned and announced Harry's name.
This time it was Harry's turn to be stunned, and he became the center of everyone's attention.
"Harry, how did you do that? Aren't you too old?" Ron, sitting next to Harry, was astonished. How could his friend have been chosen as a hero?
“Harry.” Hermione looked at Harry in surprise.
"I didn't, I didn't put my name in. I've been with Ron the whole time, how could I go back and put my name in a note?" Harry was confused, but now was not the time to explain. No one would believe him if he said anything now.
He could only nervously stand up and walk toward Headmaster Dumbledore.
Everywhere we went, the young wizards around us were buzzing with discussion.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, what's going on? How could your school have two heroes? This is so unfair to our school!" Mrs. Maxim said to Headmaster Dumbledore in a low voice, clearly displeased.
The principal of Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, however, sat nonchalantly in his seat, elegantly sipping a glass of red wine.
“Mrs. Maxim, normally the Goblet of Fire shouldn’t have such a problem. We don’t know what’s going on. The hero chosen by the Goblet of Fire can’t withdraw from the Triwizard Tournament unless they die. Right now, we can only have Harry participate in the tournament as well.” Headmaster Dumbledore was truly at his wits’ end. He had no idea what was going on with the Goblet of Fire. Did his school really have no one to choose from? Why were all the candidates problematic?
“This is so unfair to both of our schools,” Mrs. Maxim said through gritted teeth.
"I don't really care. The Goblet of Fire has already chosen its candidate, and there's nothing we can do about it even if we object," said the principal of Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, taking a sip of his red wine with remarkable composure.
His behavior gave Headmaster Dumbledore a sense of familiarity, but he couldn't quite place who it was.
As Harry walked into the room, the three of us looked at the large group of people who had entered.
"Now that four heroes have emerged from the Goblet of Fire, the hero of this Triwizard Tournament will be chosen from among you." As Headmaster Dumbledore entered, he walked at the very front.
“Weren’t there only three schools participating in the Triwizard Tournament? Then why was he selected?” Fleur Delacour pointed to Harry Potter, the fourth hero who walked in last.
"Shouldn't we ask everyone here about this?" He pulled Harry behind him. This matter had nothing to do with Harry. He knew nothing about the situation. Everyone was questioning him, wondering if he was taking advantage of Harry because he was easy to talk to.
"What's the explanation?" Mrs. Maxim asked directly as Headmaster Dumbledore entered.
"First of all, how long have you been leaving this Goblet of Fire here? Can you be 100% sure that it's not broken and won't cause any problems?" Ha, I think I'm pretty good at roasting people.
"The Triwizard Tournament participants have always been selected by the Goblet of Fire." The British Minister for Magic, whom I had once challenged, still dared to retort.
“You said it’s from previous generations, things will develop problems after being used for a long time, right? And then there’s the second point, the age limit set by Headmaster Dumbledore, you can help register as long as you find some young wizards who are over the age limit.” I held Harry close to my side. In my previous life, I saw Harry, who hadn’t done anything wrong, being misunderstood as someone registering for me. His lonely figure, all alone, made me want to protect him in my arms.
“Doesn’t that prove he was eligible to sign up himself?” Mrs. Maxim insisted on this point.
"What about me? I could have signed up myself, and I'm absolutely certain I didn't put my name in the Goblet of Fire, so why was I chosen?" I actually know who did it; I was just bringing it up out of boredom.
"Now that things have come to this, those of you chosen by the Goblet of Fire to participate in the competition, listen carefully to the first question," the Minister of Magic said, feigning concern.
"This competition consists of three events."
The first event of the competition was to retrieve a golden egg from a dragon, a test of the participants' courage, and it had to be done in front of the other students and the judging panel. The warriors were not allowed to ask for or accept any help from their teachers while completing the event. The only weapon a warrior had in the first round was their wand. As the Minister of Magic said this, the competition seemed a little different from what I knew.
Could it be that my butterfly effect caused some slight changes?
