Chapter 183 Sirius Black's Escape from Azkaban

Chapter 183 Sirius Black's Escape from Azkaban

Oliver and Cedric, who were visiting for the first time, were curiously looking around.

My home is decorated in warm yellow tones. Thankfully, the sponsor didn't make it a metallic yellow, otherwise it would have been too cold and unwelcoming.

"Let's go, I'll help you put your luggage away first." I led Cedric and Oliver up to the second floor, first taking Cedric to his room.

When I opened the door, Cedric was stunned. The room was exactly to his liking, and he loved the decor.

"How is it, Cedric? Is this room alright?" I stepped aside to let Cedric in.

“This room is really nice, I like it very much.” Cedric walked into the room with his luggage.

“Then I’ll take Oliver to his room. Oliver, over here.” I led Oliver to the room next door.

"This room is very Gryffindor." Oliver was quite satisfied with the room he shared with Harry.

"I'm glad you like it. The restroom and shower are at the end of the corridor." Seeing that they all liked it, I didn't disturb them as they continued tidying up. I went downstairs to prepare the ingredients for tonight's hot pot.

"Ayers, do you need my help?" Harry asked as he walked to the kitchen doorway.

"You all need to help me out. Whatever you want to eat tonight, get to work." I'm not the kind of person who does everything myself; I definitely want them to get involved.

"Oh dear~ I should have come down later." Cedric laughed as he walked to the kitchen door.

"Don't just stand there, all of you. Pack your things. Do you still want hot pot tonight?" I chuckled as I brought Cedric in to cut fish slices for me while I simmered the chicken broth.

"Is hot pot delicious?" Harry asked curiously. He was the only one of the four of us who had never eaten hot pot before.

“It’s delicious. You’ll look forward to it again next time.” Oliver also came down and rolled up his sleeves to help.

"Harry's in charge of washing the vegetables, Oliver's in charge of washing the fruit, and I'll take care of the rest." Luckily, the kitchen that the system had modified was particularly large, and the four of us could squeeze into it.

Then the four of us chatted and laughed as we prepared the ingredients.

In the evening, I set the dining table in a very cozy way, with a steaming hot pot in the center and various ingredients and seasonings around it.

Cedric and Oliver stared at the ingredients on the table, while Harry eagerly picked up his fork, ready to dig in.

"Don't rush, Harry, let's put the ingredients in and cook for a while first," I said with a smile, putting some slices of meat into the pot with my chopsticks.

We added various meats, vegetables, tofu, and other ingredients to the hot pot one by one, watching them simmer and bubble with anticipation. Soon, the hot pot began to boil, filling the air with a wonderful aroma.

"Wow, it smells so good!" Cedric couldn't help but exclaim.

“Yes, I can’t wait,” Oliver chimed in.

"Then let's get started!" I said, picking up a spoon and serving everyone a bowl of steaming hot pot soup.

Cedric and Oliver have known me for a long time and have both learned to use chopsticks. The three of us picked up our chopsticks and began to enjoy the delicious hot pot. Cedric picked up a piece of cooked beef, put it in his mouth, and savored it slowly.

"Hmm, this beef is cooked just right, tender and juicy," he said with satisfaction.

Oliver, on the other hand, likes to eat vegetables. He puts all kinds of vegetables into a pot, cooks them until they are soft, and then takes them out and puts them in his mouth.

"These vegetables have absorbed the broth from the hot pot, making them incredibly delicious," he said.

Harry, who can't use chopsticks, has a special fondness for tofu in hot pot. He puts the tofu into the pot, cooks it until it's golden and crispy, and then takes it out and puts it in his mouth.

"Wow, this tofu is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it tastes amazing," he said.

Everyone enjoyed the delicious hot pot while chatting and laughing, creating a very harmonious atmosphere.

We shared stories and experiences with each other, and laughter echoed throughout the room.

Before we knew it, a long time had passed, and we had almost finished eating the hot pot.

We put down our chopsticks, leaned back in our chairs, and sighed contentedly.

“This is such a delicious hot pot!” Cedric said.

“Yes, I’m really full,” Oliver said.

"As long as you're full, that's good," I said with a smile as I brought over some fruit.

Finally, after we finished eating the fruit, we cleared the table together, bringing this wonderful evening to a close.

The next day, when I woke up, got ready, and went downstairs, Cedric had already prepared breakfast in the kitchen.

"Why don't you sleep a little longer?" I walked behind Cedric, wrapped my arms around his slender waist, and rested my head on his shoulder. I never imagined that I would be almost as tall as Cedric this year.

"Although I really liked that room, I might be a little light sleeper, so I woke up quite early." Cedric didn't stop what he was doing, managing to do his work well while I was being held by him.

"Thank you for your hard work." I lifted Cedric's chin after I saw that he had finished putting the breakfast into plates.

I looked into his eyes, smiled slightly, and then slowly lowered my head to kiss his lips.

His lips were soft and warm. My lips gently touched his, feeling his breath and heartbeat. I gently sucked on his lips, and his lips parted slightly, allowing my tongue to enter his mouth.

My tongue intertwined with his, exploring each other's mouths.

His body gradually grew hot, and his arms wrapped tightly around my neck, allowing me to kiss him more deeply.

I felt his enthusiasm and longing, and my heart was filled with happiness and contentment.

Our kisses grew more and more intense, and I gradually lost my senses, wanting only to feel his love more deeply.

My hands began to roam over his body, stroking his back, shoulders, and chest.

His body trembled slightly, and he let out a low groan.

I don't know how much time passed before our kissing gradually stopped. I looked into his eyes, smiled slightly, and then softly said, "I love you so much, Saide."

His eyes were still a little dazed. He hugged me tightly and said, "Me too~ Ayers."

When Cedric finally recovered, he gently nudged me.

"Let go of me, Harry and Oliver will wake up soon." Cedric gently patted my arm.

“Okay, go wake them up. I’ll go check today’s mail first.” I let go of Cedric, walked out of the kitchen, opened the front door to check the mailbox, and took out today’s mail and newspaper.

The headline was about Sirius Black's prison break, with a vivid, animated image of Sirius Black.

Finally, it arrived. Looking at Sirius Black's picture on the newspaper, the corners of my mouth involuntarily turned up.

Suddenly a slight breeze blew by, and the grass near my house rustled. I could sense something approaching nearby.

"Is it here?" I muttered to myself.

Then a black dog that I had never seen before came out from nearby.

It has a lithe body and glossy black fur, like silk.

Under the cover of darkness before dawn, its eyes gleamed with an eerie light, like two burning embers.

Its mouth was slightly open, revealing sharp teeth, as if it were ready to pounce on its prey at any moment.

It stood there, watching me quietly, its eyes filled with doubt and confusion.

We stood there facing each other, as if time had frozen.

After a while, the black dog turned and left.

Its figure disappeared into the darkness, leaving me standing there alone.

“Long time no see, Sirius Black,” I said softly to the air as I stood there.

Then I turned around and went back to my own home, where I saw that Harry and Oliver had already gotten up and come downstairs.

"Ha~, why did you wake us up so early? I'm still not fully awake," Harry said, yawning as he sat down at the table.

“Because I’ve received a book list from Hogwarts, and I also received a letter from the Weasleys saying they’ve returned to the Burrow and plan to meet us at Diagon Alley today.” I deliberately placed Harry’s letter and the newspaper with Sirius Black’s picture on it next to Harry.

"Sirius Black, the infamous villain, has escaped from Azkaban prison. He is said to be Riddle's most trusted henchman and killed 13 people with a single spell?" Harry read the latest newspaper headline word by word.

"Wouldn't it be dangerous for us to go to school this year?" Cedric asked while eating breakfast and listening to Harry read the newspaper.

"Take only a little bit of the information reported in the newspapers as gospel. Don't jump to conclusions without substantial evidence." I scooped up a mouthful of porridge, blew on it, and ate it.

Cedric seemed to have figured something out; it appeared there was something fishy about what was being reported in the newspaper.

"I feel like this is coming for me." Harry was now fully awake. Weren't Riddle's right-hand men his mortal enemies?

"It's hard to say." I didn't tell Harry the truth either. I'd let him investigate this himself; he probably wouldn't believe me if I told him.

"When are Percy, Fred, and George leaving?" Oliver didn't care about that; he had already finished his breakfast.

“We don’t need to rush. We have a fireplace at home, and it’ll be quick for us to get to Diagon Alley.” I finished my breakfast and opened the letter I had sent to myself to read.

"Looks like you really are the Slytherin Prefect this year, Ayers." Cedric, the Prefect, saw the Prefect's badge given to me on my letter.

"Then I'll have to trouble you and Percy to take good care of me." I really can't escape the fate of being a Slytherin prefect.

“Actually, being a prefect isn’t that busy. I’m sure Ayers can handle it.” Cedric had a lot of confidence in me.

"Let's tidy up here. You all go back to your rooms and get ready. We'll head to Diagon Alley in a bit." I glanced out the window; the sunlight was already streaming in, and it was getting light.

“Then I’ll leave it to you, Ayers.” Oliver was the first to stand up and head to the second floor.

"Then I'll go change my clothes first." Harry had only washed up and hadn't changed out of his pajamas yet.

“Then I’ll go make a list of what I need to buy.” Cedric picked up his letter and went upstairs.

It was up to me to clean up. I cast a levitation spell and a clean sweep spell without a staff, and then I put the dishes away one by one in the cupboard.

After I finished getting ready, I went upstairs to change my clothes, made a shopping list, and then slowly walked down to the first floor.

When I came down, Harry and Cedric were chatting, while Oliver was reading a book about flying broomsticks.

"Let's go, you guys go first, I'll cover you." I'm not afraid of Cedric and Oliver using Floo Powder, I'm just afraid of Harry, since he once went to the wrong place.

"I'll go first, Diagon Alley." Harry knew that I was the last one because of him, so he grabbed a handful of Floo Powder, went into the fireplace, and teleported there.

"Then I'll be the second one, Diagon Alley." After Harry left, Cedric picked up a handful of Floo Powder and left as well.

"Hey Ayers, we'll wait for you over there." Oliver also grabbed a handful of Floo Powder and teleported away.

"Diagon Alley." Seeing that they had all left, I grabbed a handful of Floo Powder and threw it on the ground. A flame ignited, and my figure disappeared into the fireplace.

“Over here, Ayers.” When I came out of the fireplace, Harry and the other two were already waiting on the side. I cast a ‘Cleanse’ spell on myself and them.

“Did Percy, Fred, and George say where to meet?” Cedric asked.

“They’ve all arranged to meet at Broken Axe Bar. Let’s head over there now. If it’s too early, we’ll wait for them.” I led the three of them toward Broken Axe Bar.

When we opened the door to the Broken Axe, we ran into Hermione and Ron arguing in front of the door.

"Hermione, keep an eye on your cat. It keeps chasing my Scabbers." Ron hugged his pet Scabbers tightly.

"Cat chasing mouse is a trait, I apologize." Hermione also hugged her new holiday companion, Crookshanks, affectionately.

"What are you doing?" I led Harry and the others into the Broken Axe pub, glancing at the rat Ron was holding.

Just like the characteristics I knew from my past life, this mouse is indeed the Peter Pettigrew I know. It just kept hiding from my sight for the past few years. It must have been scared this year, so it finally showed itself.

“Senior Ayers, you be the judge! Hermione’s cat keeps chasing my Scabbers, and no matter what I say, it won’t listen to me,” Ron complained to me indignantly.

“Senior Ayers, I didn’t mean to either. Crookshanks is actually very well-behaved. I don’t know why he just won’t let Ron’s mouse, Scabbers, go.” Hermione herself was also puzzled. Her cat was usually very obedient, so why did he chase after Ron’s mouse as soon as he saw it?

“Generally speaking, cats are very intelligent. There must be some reason why Hermione’s cat is acting like this. And Ron, you should be a gentleman and give way to Hermione. She has already apologized to you.” I stroked Crookshank’s chin, and Crookshank was super clingy to my fingers as I stroked it.

After all, my monster affinity is a whopping 21.
