Chapter 116 Arrival, Found, Inspection!
The next day, early morning.
Sunlight streamed in at an angle through the gaps in the curtains, drawing a thin band of light on the floor, with dust motes floating slowly within the beam of light.
Tsunade awoke from her hangover, looking perfectly normal, without a trace of the headache she'd had the night before. All of this was thanks to the Yin Seal within her body.
Now, even if I get completely drunk, recovering is just a matter of a thought.
In fact, the reason she was able to get drunk was that she was deliberately suppressing the effects of the Yin Seal.
If left to run unchecked, the alcohol will be completely broken down before it can have any effect.
After she fell into a deep sleep, the Yin Seal, no longer suppressed, began to operate on its own, and the intoxication was quietly dispelled.
She sat up casually, completely disregarding her appearance. Her collar slipped off her shoulder and nestled in the crook of her arm, revealing one of her collarbones.
The hem of her pajamas was rolled up, exposing most of her legs.
She yawned softly, without a trace of alcohol in her breath.
Who knows what kind of experiments that man did to her?
Tsunade got up and drew back the curtains, letting in the morning light that instantly illuminated the entire room.
She poured herself a glass of water, leaned back in the chair by the window, and gazed aimlessly out the window.
She simply straightened her clothes casually; the movements weren't exactly elegant, but they carried a kind of languid composure.
The changes within her body continued subtly, and she even felt that her body was becoming younger and younger.
The flow of skin, energy, and chakra felt like it had returned to more than ten years ago.
Since arriving near Uzushion Village, she found the climate here to be somewhat familiar.
It's not the familiarity of memory, but rather the body remembering everything it has experienced.
The experiment that man conducted on her made her perception and feelings about the outside world exceptionally clear.
Although that memory is sealed away and cannot be recalled, the body seems to still remember it.
Guided by that intuition, she followed some kind of pull and headed towards the land of rivers.
Now Tsunade is even more certain that the place where the other party once imprisoned her should be located not far from the sea, and within the territory of the Land of Rivers.
She will find that place and that person sooner or later.
"Huh—Lady Tsunade, you're awake?"
Shizune rubbed her eyes, dazed by the sunlight, and looked at Tsunade sitting by the window with a hint of surprise in her voice.
The other person rarely wakes up early and usually doesn't wake up until much later than her. Unexpectedly, she woke up earlier than her today.
She propped herself up to sit up, her hair a little messy, but she didn't bother to fix it.
"I'll go make breakfast right away. How about milk and sandwiches?"
Tsunade didn't respond, but continued gazing out the window. Shizune knew that no refusal meant consent.
She quickly changed her clothes, washed up briefly, and then went out to buy breakfast.
Tsunade was left alone in the room. She put down her water glass, raised her hand to touch her lower abdomen, feeling the changes within her body, her gaze slightly somber.
"What exactly did that guy do? And what is he trying to achieve by using me?"
She knew in her heart that if she recklessly went to find the other person based on her feelings, even if she did find him, could she successfully threaten him with her own life?
Everything is uncertain!
That's why she gambled, drank, and beat up thugs on her journey to vent her emotions and release her anxiety and helplessness.
Meanwhile, in the same city, Kakashi was standing on a street corner with his ninja dog Pakkun perched on his shoulder.
"The scent here is very fresh," Puck said in a low voice. "The Tsunade-sama you're looking for should be here."
After saying that, it seemed to have made a new discovery, jumped off Kakashi's shoulder, and ran straight off in a certain direction.
Kakashi didn't hesitate and immediately followed.
Soon, Parker led him through several streets and stopped at a breakfast stall.
Kakashi looked up and saw Shizune standing by the roadside, carrying the food she had just bought.
"Mute?"
Hearing someone call her name, Shizune was startled and turned to look.
"Kakashi?"
When she saw what the other person looked like, Shizune was also taken aback.
Although she had only met him when she was a child, she recognized him at a glance because of his signature silver hair, the mask he had worn since childhood, and his later habit of wearing a headband to cover his Sharingan.
"Why are you here? On a mission?"
"Yes." Kakashi nodded, then got straight to the point, "Where is Lady Tsunade?"
Shizune sensed something was wrong, frowned slightly, and her tone turned serious: "Your mission is to find Lady Tsunade?"
Kakashi nodded silently again, offering no further explanation, and simply said, "This isn't the right place to talk. Please take me to see Lady Tsunade."
"Alright." Shizune didn't say anything more, picked up the breakfast, and turned to lead the way.
The two of them, one in front of the other, soon arrived at the hotel entrance.
After entering, Shizune stopped at the door and turned to Kakashi, saying, "Wait here for a moment."
"I'll go in and tell Lady Tsunade. If she doesn't see you, there's nothing I can do."
Kakashi quickly said, "This mission is very important, please make sure that Lady Tsunade sees me."
Jingyin glanced at him but didn't reply; this wasn't something she could decide.
She opened the door and went into the room.
Inside the room, Tsunade was still sitting by the window. The morning light cast a thin halo around her golden hair.
She held her water glass, her gaze fixed on the bustling street outside the window, her expression indifferent, revealing nothing of her thoughts.
Jingyin pushed open the door and came in, carrying breakfast in her hand, with a hesitant look on her face as if she wanted to say something but couldn't.
"What's wrong?" Tsunade didn't even turn her head, but she sensed something was wrong just by listening to the footsteps.
"Lady Tsunade—" Shizune placed breakfast on the table, carefully choosing her words, "Kakashi is here. He's right outside the door, saying he has a mission for you."
Tsunade tapped her fingers lightly on the side of the cup before finally turning her head.
Her eyebrows twitched slightly, as if she were somewhat surprised, yet also as if she wasn't.
"Kakashi? That brat from Minato's team?"
"It's him." Shizune nodded. "He said the mission is very important and that you must see him."
Tsunade was silent for a moment, then placed the water glass on the windowsill, raised her hand to gather her slipping collar, and tugged at the hem of her pajamas.
The movements were still casual, but at least a bit more organized than before.
"Let him in."
Shizune responded, turned around and walked to the door, opened it, and nodded to Kakashi who was waiting in the corridor.
"Come in, Lady Tsunade has agreed to see you."
Kakashi breathed a sigh of relief and strode into the room. Puck jumped off his shoulder, crouched at the doorway, and didn't follow him in.
The room wasn't big; it had two beds, a small table, and a chair by the window.
Tsunade sat in that chair, legs crossed, arms crossed, calmly observing him.
Even though they had just woken up and were dressed casually, the aura of the Three Ninjas was still not to be underestimated.
"Lady Tsunade." Kakashi stopped, bowed slightly, and paid his respects.
"Alright, enough with the pleasantries." Tsunade waved her hand dismissively, her tone direct. "Tell me, what did the old man send you to see me for?"
Kakashi didn't beat around the bush and explained the mission given to him by the Third Hokage and his purpose for coming in detail.
The task was to find Tsunade, confirm her condition, ask her to help examine his body, and hand over the research scroll to the Sealing Team.
As Tsunade listened, her gaze fell on Kakashi's headband near his left eye, and her brows furrowed slightly.
"Let me see your left eye?"
Kakashi paused for a moment, then reached out and pulled off his headband.
The eye was revealed; it wasn't Obito's Sharingan, but an ordinary eye.
The traces of a sealing technique can still be faintly seen around the eyes.
"Obito's Sharingan has been taken." His voice was calm, so calm that it didn't sound like he was talking about himself.
"When we were on a mission in the Land of Snow, Taketori Izumi took Obito's Sharingan and replaced it with this one for me."
Tsunade's pupils contracted slightly.
Taketori Izumi—that name again!
She subconsciously raised her hand to touch the scarlet mark between her eyebrows, her gaze slightly somber.
The air in the room seemed to freeze for a moment.
"Let me see!" Tsunade stood up and walked up to Kakashi.
He reached out and pressed down on his shoulder, then used his other hand to lift his headband and get a closer look at his left eye.
A pale green chakra shone from her palm and slowly swept across Kakashi's eye sockets.
After a moment, she withdrew her hand, her expression somewhat complicated.
"The sealing team's skills are quite solid, but this eye—there's definitely something wrong with it."
She paused for a moment, then continued, "They fit so perfectly, it's like they were originally your eyes."
"And there are some subtle traces of chakra within them, but—I can't determine what effect these traces have."
.
Kakashi's heart sank, but his face remained expressionless.
"Show me the scroll!" Tsunade held out her hand.
Kakashi took out the scroll of research from the sealing team from his pocket and handed it over.
Tsunade took it, unfolded it, glanced at it a few times, and her brows furrowed more and more tightly.
"These guys—they've put in some effort," she muttered to herself as she packed up the reel.
"I've accepted the things. I'll have you checked out when I have time, but not now."
She turned and walked back to the window, sat down again, and looked out at the road that stretched towards the land of rivers.
"I have other things to do."
Kakashi glanced out the window following her gaze, but didn't ask any further questions.
He could vaguely guess what Tsunade wanted to do. Just as the Third Hokage said, she was under a cursed seal and could not tell about her past experiences, but she obviously had not given up the investigation.
"When does Lady Tsunade plan to—"
"Wait until I'm done with my work," Tsunade interrupted him, her tone leaving no room for negotiation. "You stay with me, and there will be time to inspect later."
.
Kakashi paused for a moment, then nodded: "Yes."
Shizune stood to the side, looking at Tsunade, then at Kakashi, opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately swallowed it back.
She quietly placed breakfast on the table: milk and sandwiches—simple yet thoughtful.
"Let's eat first—" Shizune said, trying to ease the tension, "We'll talk after we eat!"
The room fell silent, save for the soft clinking of cutlery.
The sunlight outside the window grew brighter and brighter, bathing this small border town in a warm hue.
Each of the three individuals harbored their own thoughts as they sat in the small hotel room, awaiting the start of their journey.
