"I'll die right here today! I'll explode! I'll die on the spot! I'll even grab the instructor and rub him against the water!" The captain was so angry that he accelerated and rushed towards Rodney.
A squad of ship girls and an instructor started frolicking on the sea like it was a holiday.
Then, after a fierce battle lasting more than ten minutes, the assessment ended with Rodney's clear and gentle laughter.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
"I'm so happy." Rodney got ashore, laughing as he unzipped his mascot costume.
The black cartoon mascot costume remained spotless even after the battle, looking brand new.
The six ship girls, covered in colorful paint from being hit by fireworks, followed Rodney ashore.
Compared to the composed Rodney, they looked much more disheveled.
The six ship girls coughed and spit out water, unable to even stand steadily. They trembled all over after getting ashore and then lay down on the beach, looking like they were about to die from exhaustion.
The staff waiting on the beach quickly gathered around to give the ship girls some water.
Rodney turned around and smiled at the six students lying on the ground behind him being cared for by staff. His eyebrows and the corners of his mouth were almost curving upwards.
"Instructor...you...you really show no mercy at all...ah!" the ship girls cried out to Rodney in distress.
"Your teacher taught you to give it your all in every battle," Rodney said as he pulled himself out of the mascot costume.
Rodney didn't look very comfortable in the mascot costume either. Her light shirt underneath was covered with a thin layer of sweat, becoming semi-transparent and clinging tightly to her slender body.
Rodney took the water bottle and report handed to him by the staff, and picked up a pen: "You haven't run into the teacher even once, have you?"
"Teacher, you're amazing!" the ship girls exclaimed, sounding aggrieved.
Instructor Rodney is considered the strongest ship girl in the entire ship girl training base. If she were to seriously fight against these novice ship girls who haven't actually fought yet, she could easily handle not just six or seven, but even a dozen or twenty of them.
"Hahahaha!" Rodney smiled, picked up the report, circled the excellent options on it with her pen, and left with the water bottle.
In the very center of the beach, Rodney's sister Nelson sat in a chair, quietly sipping her tea.
"Sister!" Rodney said with a smile and waved as he walked over.
Nelson looked up at Rodney: "Is the exam over?"
"Well, it's over."
"You spent so much time playing with the students again?"
"Hehe... Seeing how hard the students worked, I felt a little embarrassed to finish so soon. I also need to properly check their abilities." Rodney walked over to Nelson and placed the half-finished water bottle on Nelson's table. "Has your side been finished for a while, sister?"
"It's over long ago."
"As expected of her, she must have ended the battle in a cool and dashing way!" Rodney looked at Nelson, his eyes filled with undisguised admiration.
“It’s just the usual routine.” Nelson shrugged. “Go change your clothes. Look at you, your clothes are soaked.”
"Oh, okay, thanks for reminding me, sis." Rodney then realized he felt a chill. "I'll go change in the back now. See you later, sis!"
Rodney waved to Nelson, then skipped away from the beach with his hands behind his back.
Nelson maintained his stylish sitting posture for a while.
Nelson tilted his body slightly.
Nelson turned and looked in Rodney's direction for a moment.
After confirming that his sister had temporarily left the beach, Nelson excitedly grabbed the water bottle Rodney had placed on the table.
"Ha...ha...I never thought...that this would be left behind..." Nelson panted as he looked at the water bottle in his hand, his face flushed with excitement.
Oh, my lovely little sister! How careless of her! She actually forgot such an important personal item on the table.
What if some scoundrel or pervert steals it?
As the older sister, I absolutely have to stop this from happening!
right! That's it!
Nelson stuck his nose out and sniffed the straw in the kettle.
A faint fragrance from a young girl's breath reached Nelson's nose.
"Ah!" Nelson clutched his chest.
No, this is too stimulating, I can't take it.
Nelson wiped the water bottle on his hand.
This is my little sister's most precious treasure, and as her older sister, I must protect it from bad people.
right! That's it!
So Nelson put the water bottle into his ship's equipment space.
Chapter 382 Live-fire Exercises
Behind the beach is a special rest area for the ship girls, complete with all the necessary items and facilities. They can change clothes, have something to eat, and even lie down for a nap, watch a movie, or play a game of exciting Ludo if they feel tired.
Rodney quickly changed his clothes and came back.
When Nelson noticed Rodney's return, he quickly composed himself, resting his chin on his hand and gazing intently at the sea.
"Sister, I'm back!" Rodney finally changed back into her standard Royal Navy uniform, and returned to her sister's side with a big smile, her hands behind her back.
“Hmm.” Nelson nodded.
Rodney was used to his sister's deep seriousness.
Rodney looked at Nelson's table.
My old kettle is gone.
"Huh?" Rodney looked at Nelson. "Sister, sister, have you seen my water bottle?"
What kettle?
"It's the one that used to hold water, I only drank a little bit." Rodney pointed to his lips, squatted down on the ground, and looked over the table.
"I don't know, maybe the staff took it away as trash," Nelson said.
"Hey... Sister, do you know who took it?" Rodney asked.
“Do you still want it back? It’s probably already in the trash.” Nelson looked at Rodney.
“Oh…that’s true.” Rodney lowered his head with a hint of regret. “I really liked that color.”
“It’s okay, it’s just blue. I’ll buy you another one tomorrow,” Nelson said.
"Ah, thank you, sister!" Rodney's eyes narrowed with a smile.
My older sister is so good to me. Even though I'm so forgetful and always lose things, she always manages to buy me a brand new one for what I've lost. She's so kind.
“It’s no big deal,” Nelson said with a light smile.
"...Oh right, by the way, didn't you just say you didn't know anything about water bottles? How come I remember my water bottle being blue?"
Surprising!
Nelson's heart skipped a beat, and his other hand, hidden under the table, instinctively clenched the hem of his clothes.
Nelson looked at Rodney.
When did my silly little sister become so clever?
“…I know you like blue water glasses without even looking,” Nelson said.
"Wow!" Rodney looked at Nelson with surprise. "Sister, you knew all that? That's amazing!"
“Basic procedure, sit down.” Nelson finally loosened his grip on his clothes. “By the way, are you thirsty? If so, use mine.”
As Nelson spoke, he pushed his teacup toward Rodney.
"No, thank you, I'm not thirsty." Rodney shook her head and pulled out a stool to sit next to Nelson.
"Oh." Nelson's plan failed, and he could only stare blankly at the sea.
On the high seas, occasionally a spark can be seen blooming in some place. That's a sign that other instructors are fighting with their students.
Unless their battleship ship girls are trained to a very high level, it is difficult for them to fight two of the same ship type at once. Therefore, even though most instructors are much stronger than their students, it is still difficult for them to fight six at once.
After all, the instructor is playing the role of the abyssal dean, and what ship girls are best at is bullying the weak with numbers.
In reality, even if the instructors give it their all, defeat is only a matter of time, unless they possess the strength of Nelson and Rodney, who are not just much stronger than the students, but are on a completely different level.
On the beach, instructors would occasionally finish their work and come ashore with their students, while others would begin their assessments of the next batch of students. Layer upon layer of staff members surrounded them.
Rodney and Nelson seemed much more relaxed than the instructors and students. This was because they had already finished assessing all the students on the list for today's evaluation.
"How relaxing," Rodney said, stretching out his long, straight legs, bending down, and pressing on them with his hands.
"Do you want to go out and have some fun later?" Nelson asked.
"Huh? Where to go?"
"Amusement park, e-sports center, or shopping mall are all fine."
"The choice is mine?" Rodney clasped his hands together, looking at Nelson with a look of surprise.
“Well, it’s fine if everyone goes. Anyway, it’s finals and we don’t have much to do.” Nelson looked at Rodney and gave him a handsome smile.
Rodney nodded quickly.
Just as Rodney was about to say something, a ship girl covered in paint stumbled up to him: "Instructor Rodney..."
"Eh? May I ask who you are?" Rodney looked at the ship girl running towards him in surprise.
The newcomer was so horribly disfigured, covered in colorful paint from head to toe, that Rodney couldn't recognize him at all.
"I'm Instructor Number Seven!" The man plopped down on the ground and cried out to Rodney.
"Oh, it's Instructor Senior! What happened to you?" Rodney quickly stood up from the stool and helped the ship girl who was sitting on the ground to her feet.
It's normal for instructors to be outnumbered by students; that's part of the game's design. Even if instructors are stronger than students, there are very few instructors like Rodney who can ignore numbers.
However, this was the first time Rodney had ever seen an instructor lose so badly.
—This could be called a complete thrashing, right?
Upon hearing Rodney's words, the ship girl sitting on the ground burst into tears, large drops streaming down her face: "I...I can't beat those students, sob sob..."
"..." Rodney and Nelson looked at the instructor in surprise.
The instructors were numbered. Rodney and Nelson were numbered in the teens, meaning that this instructor number seven had been in the same position longer than Rodney.
She was the one who led the clueless Rodney down the path of becoming a teacher, and Rodney was well aware of her abilities.
She is very strong (although not as strong as herself and her sister).
No matter what, she's not the type of person who can be easily bullied by students.
"Was it your student who defeated you, senior?" Rodney asked.
"Um……"
“Ah…” Rodney nodded.
That truly shows how the younger generation surpasses the older.
"Rodney, please help me!" Instructor Number Seven knew Rodney's strength very well. At this moment, she grabbed Rodney's hand like a straw on the water's surface, crying and pleading.
"What kind of help?"
"After those students beat me, they said I was too weak and wouldn't acknowledge my assessment results, sob sob sob..." Instructor Number Seven said aggrievedly, "Please help me go and teach them a lesson, sob sob sob!"
Rodney and Nelson raised their eyebrows.
Ah, so they're here to challenge us.
Ship girl training institutions are facilities that have gradually emerged in recent years. Their main responsibility is to help admirals who are unable to train ship girls and improve their combat capabilities.
Of course, since it's training specifically for ship girls, the price is naturally quite high, and not every admiral can afford it. Therefore, currently, most admirals who come here for ship girl training are either wealthy or powerful.
Or to put it another way, these admirals are all people with some ability and can afford considerable expenses.
The instructors at the ship girl training institution are recruited from various powerful naval bases and are quite capable. However, their strength is only relative to the novice ship girls participating in the training. In the eyes of truly powerful ship girls, the instructors' strength is at most just good, or only slightly better than themselves.
This disparity in strength is obviously insufficient to support the instructor taking on six opponents at once.
With fame comes trouble, and the same applies to schools. So, among the ship girls participating in training, there are occasionally some who are already quite strong and come specifically to challenge the school.
"Oh, I see." Rodney gripped Instructor Seven's hand tightly, clenching his fist to encourage her. "Okay! Those who bully seniors are bad people, and Rodney will do his best to teach them a lesson!"
