Chapter 27 As long as you're bold enough, teacher...
Chicago train station, USA.
Su An stood in front of the train timetable, deep in thought, constantly comparing it with the ticket in his hand, but his confusion only deepened.
He encountered a major problem—although the college handbook said to take the C1000 train to school, there was no way to get to the train.
Su An searched everywhere, asking everyone from train timetables to local train staff, but he couldn't find a single clue about the C1000 train.
As Su An pondered, he heard a mournful sound coming from behind him.
"One dollar, just one dollar..."
In the United States, this is a typical begging phrase, asking for a dollar, just like the lotus flower ballad sung by a beggar in ancient China.
Su An turned his head and saw a man calling out to him mournfully.
This was a young American beggar, tall and burly, with hair so greasy it could fry three dishes, and a plaid shirt and baggy pants that smelled pungent and hadn't been washed or changed in ages.
Even a beggar would give him a couple of coins if he looked like this. Su An subconsciously took out a dollar and put it in the man's hand.
"Thank you so much! My name is Fingel von Frings, a university student. I will definitely repay your kindness when I become successful!" To prove his identity, the young man took out a textbook that looked like a dictionary from his satchel.
The textbooks looked quite old, with titles written in a mix of English and Latin... A thought flashed through Su An's mind: he had seen this style of writing on the admission documents for Kassel College.
"Are you waiting for... the CC1000 express train?" Su An asked.
"What? You too...?" The man exclaimed in surprise, groping around for something.
The next second, both of them took out a magnetic card ticket from their pockets. The tickets were exactly the same, with silver patterns of a giant tree with lush foliage drawn on the black surface.
So this beggar was also a student at Kassel. Su An suddenly thought of the elegant principal, whose temperament seemed completely incompatible with this beggar.
If the principal is a noble and elegant Persian cat, then Fingel is undoubtedly a stray dog, who, apart from his tall stature, has nothing to do with slaying dragons.
Su An found it hard to believe that these two people came from the same Kassel College. But perhaps Fingel had his own unspeakable reasons, and Su An was unwilling to pry too much.
"I'm a freshman, Su An." Su An extended her hand, wanting to show friendliness.
"My dear family! I've finally found my family!" Fingel cried, tears streaming down his face as he grabbed Su An's hand.
His appearance made Su An shudder involuntarily.
Su An struggled to produce his ticket and asked the question that had been troubling him for a long time: "Is this train often delayed? Why can't I find the train timetable?"
"Don't worry, a bus will come eventually. People of lower social class have to wait for the bus," Fingel snorted.
"class?"
"It's something like aristocratic status; students of higher ranks have certain privileges, such as priority in getting a car, but that's a privilege only for those at the A level or above, so we can forget about it..."
As soon as Fingel finished speaking, he suddenly looked towards the tracks.
The sounds of bells and train whistles grew louder as they approached, and the train lights flashed across the platform.
The high-speed train, with its blinding headlights, black, streamlined body, and dazzling silver-white vine patterns unfolding on its black paint, was as magnificent as a work of art.
The CC1000 express train has arrived at the station.
"Starting early?"
Fingel's mouth opened wide, forming the shape of the letter O.
As an E-class Kassel mule, the CC1000 express train that picks up and drops off Finger always arrives very late.
There seems to be only one reason why the train arrived so early.
Fingel glanced at Su An in surprise. Could it be that he...?
beep - beep -
The sound of the express train stopping interrupted Fingel's thoughts. A train conductor came out, took Fingel's ticket, swiped it through the ticket machine, the green light lit up, and there was a "beep".
"Fingal, aren't you going to drop out of school yet?" the train conductor said. "I thought I wouldn't see you this year."
“I’m a man of my word,” Fingel said. “Judging from your tone, has my social standing dropped again?”
"You've been downgraded to 'F'! You were downgraded from 'A' level, you've gone from heaven to hell," the train conductor said.
"They've really gone from serfs to beasts..." Fingel muttered, while watching Su An swipe his vote with curiosity.
What social class would he be?
Su An's ticket swiped through the ticket machine, the green light came on, and cheerful music played.
"S-class?" The train conductor's beautiful green eyes lit up. "There are very few people of that high rank."
"'S'?" Fingel's eyes widened. "Isn't only the headmaster 'S'?"
Fingel scrutinized Su An from head to toe, not missing a single inch. His intense gaze made Su An feel uneasy all over.
Just when Su An was about to lose his temper, Fingel suddenly grabbed Su An's leg!
"I, a subject, have spent half my life wandering without encountering a wise ruler. If you do not abandon me, I wish to become your godfather!"
"what?"
"A good bird chooses a good tree to perch on, and a good minister chooses a good lord to serve! I, Fingel, Minister of Information in Kassel, am solely devoted to my adoptive father and have no other intentions!"
"what?"
"If being an adopted son isn't an option, I can always be the cameo role of Red Hare! My elective last semester was Romance of the Three Kingdoms!"
Fingel waved his arms, excitedly showing off his well-developed biceps, leaving Su An speechless.
"It's just S-rank, isn't it?" Su An retorted.
Finger immediately shook his head in anguish, as if he were furious at the waste of resources.
"This is an S-rank! There have been no more than ten S-rank people in the history of the academy, and they have all become the leaders of the mixed-race world."
Principal Angers is an S-rank, and no dragon has ever been able to stop his sword.
Therefore, an S-rank is roughly equivalent to a future dragon-slaying leader. There's nothing shameful about being the adopted son of such a leader, or like the Red Hare.
Upon hearing this, Su An couldn't help but recall the battle with Angers when he had just awakened, at which time it seemed that he had blocked Angers's blade.
If no dragon can stop me, am I more dangerous than a dragon?
Su An thought silently that if that were the case, he might actually be able to kill the black dragon in that oil painting.
The roaring black dragon emperor, if it were to face Lan Cang Hei He...
Who is stronger and who is weaker?
Thinking of this, a faint blue light flashed in Su An's eyes.
His heart began to beat faster, and his boiling blood and fighting spirit drifted into the distance.
Seeing that Su An remained silent, Fingel assumed that Su An was unhappy with this offensive offer of refuge.
"I understand, I understand. When we get back to school, I'll introduce you to the single female students in the journalism department!"
"........."
Su An didn't know where to begin complaining.
Seeing that Su An still didn't speak, Fingel gritted his teeth, closed his eyes, and then opened them again.
"I'll introduce you to any female students who have boyfriends too!"
"......."
Seeing Su An pause in shock, Fingel finally felt a deep sense of respect.
He seemed to have misunderstood something, and after much deliberation, he finally lowered his head and whispered in Su An's ear.
"It's normal to feel embarrassed if you like teacher-student play. I'll introduce you to the female professors in the alchemy department, but some of them are already married."
So after the introduction, it's up to you.
"what?"
