She stared at the knife for a few seconds, noticing its gleaming blade, unstained by a single drop of blood, yet the person emanating such murderous intent. She'd only heard glimpses of the Demon Slayer Corps from high-ranking police officials—they specialized in handling unusual cases. She just hadn't expected it to be this busty high school girl before her. Really?
How many ghosts have you killed?
"I can't remember. Just like how people remember how much bread they've eaten, do they remember how much they've eaten?"
Saeko Busujima answered.
The atmosphere was a bit tense.
Zhou Ye also said directly:
"Officer, we're all here for our own purposes. If you're willing to work together, then come together; if not, then go your separate ways. I don't mind providing you with some weapons, but you're dreaming if you think you can just surrender."
"You're a member of STARS, Jill Valentine?"
Jill's body visibly tensed up.
"How did you recognize me?"
“I’ve seen your photos, and looking at you now, in your Raccoon City police uniform, beret, and with such good skills, appearing in a godforsaken place like this, I can’t think of anyone other than an elite member of STARS.”
Zhou Ye paused, then asked, "You're alone? Where are your teammates? Chris? Barry? Wesker?"
He named several key names.
Upon hearing Chris and Barry's names, Jill's guard relaxed somewhat.
This information is not something that just anyone can accurately say. Although the Raccoon City Police Department has done some publicity, not everyone is paying attention to STARS.
She sighed, lowering the gun slightly, but not completely.
"We... got separated."
Her voice betrayed her exhaustion and anxiety.
“I got separated from the group and am looking for them, and I also want to find out what happened here.”
"So, have you found any clues?"
Nami couldn't help but ask again.
Jill shook her head, looking somewhat dejected.
"Nothing at all."
She pointed to the room, which she had turned upside down.
"This place is like a giant maze, full of traps and... those zombies."
She paused for a moment, then added, "There are also many locked doors, and I need to find the corresponding keys."
"key?"
Zhou Ye became interested.
"What kind of key?"
Maybe they sell it in the system store?
Although it will most likely be very expensive.
“All sorts of them, in the shape of swords, armor, and shields,” Jill replied. “I found a [Sword Key], but there are still many places I can’t go.”
"Shall we act together?"
Zhou Ye extended another invitation.
“There are more of us, so we can look out for each other. You find out the truth, Busujima will be in charge of killing the demons, and Nami and I will earn some extra money.”
"Teachers also lack money."
"You don't know that most teachers in America work at least three, some even five or six jobs, otherwise how would they support their families?"
Jill hesitated for a longer time this time. Then she looked at Zhou Ye warily, smelling a strong odor of gunpowder on him. Don't be fooled by the shield he was using now; he might be hiding other weapons on his person.
"We can work together, but I need you to tell me about the situation outside, how you got here, and why you smell of gunpowder on you. Don't try to fool me with your previous excuses; this involves life and death, so I have to be vigilant."
At this point, Jill looked at the three of them with a wary expression. In this unfamiliar environment, one must be wary of people who suddenly appear. As a police officer, she had seen too many inhumane things at crime scenes, especially those involving people who were short of money.
Zhou Ye shrugged and said:
"We initially took the Zodiac Train to a research institute in the mountains. There were students, Umbrella staff, and others on board. As you know, Umbrella was one of the funders of the Fujimi Academy, and many students and teachers were directly or indirectly involved."
"Then we were attacked by leeches in a canyon in the Arek Mountains. The leeches carried a virus, which caused a biohazard. Many people on the train turned into zombies, and the dogs on board were also infected and became zombie dogs. We escaped from the Zodiac Train and came straight here. We encountered many zombies along the way. Oh, and I forgot to mention, there are police armored vehicles parked outside. If you want to leave, you can drive away first, but we have other ways to get out."
Jill was horrified. Besides her team, there was another team led by Rebecca, who were also on the Zodiac Train, escorting the wanted criminal Lieutenant Billy Cohen. What happened to them? Damn cell phones and communication devices were completely useless in this godforsaken place.
With things having come to this point, Jill had no choice but to cooperate with Zhou Ye and the others for now, while also trying to figure out what they were up to. Could their so-called "extra income" be some kind of corporate espionage? Or perhaps something else entirely?
“I’ve basically searched this room, but there’s nothing useful, just some unimportant documents.” She pointed to the papers scattered on the table and floor. “We need to move on, find an exit, or find my teammates.”
"agree."
Zhou Ye nodded
"Which way to go?"
"follow me."
Jill turned around and walked towards the door first.
She remained vigilant, her walking posture always ready to adapt.
Zhou Ye gave Nami and Saeko Busujima a wink, signaling them to follow, keep their distance, and remain vigilant.
The three followed Jill out of the room.
The mansion's corridors were dark, with only emergency lights providing dim illumination, and the air was filled with dust and a faint smell of blood.
Footsteps echoed in the empty corridor.
"You'd better not have any bad intentions."
Jill's voice came from ahead, carrying a warning.
Zhou Ye thought to himself: "Jill Sandwich is really brain-dead. There are more of us. If a fight breaks out, we don't know who will end up as a corpse."
But he said:
"Don't worry, we have the same goal right now."
A temporary alliance has been formed, but it is as fragile as a thin layer of ice.
Just as Zhou Ye was about to say hello, that familiar electronic sound effect exploded in his mind again.
[Ding, main quest issued]
Zhou Ye's heart skipped a beat.
coming.

[Fourth, defeating each of the twelve lower-level demons of the Twelve Demon Moons grants 2000 points, defeating each upper-level demon grants 3000 points, and defeating the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji grants 10000 points and three chances to draw a prize.]
Fifth, killing a zombie earns 1 point, a zombie dog 10 points, and a Licker or other biological weapon 100 points.
[Sixth, rescue Sherry Perkin, Claire, Ada Wong, Shizuka Marikawa, Rika Minami, Yuriko Takagi, Saya Takagi, Rei Miyamoto, and Jill from Raccoon City. Each person will be rewarded with 500 points.]
A series of task information flooded Zhou Ye's mind.
Just then, Jill looked up at Zhou Ye.
Her eyes no longer held the previous wariness, but instead held a plea, a plea tinged with the pride of a professional soldier, yet also with reluctance.
"Um, could you give me some bullets and weapons?"
Nami jumped up.
"what?"
Her voice rose, carrying a clear tone of doubt.
"To give you weapons and ammunition?"
Nami walked up to Zhou Ye and looked Gil up and down without any politeness.
"Why? Just because you're the COP, or the FBI?"
"We don't even have enough for our own needs, why should we share with you?"
Nami's tone was sharp, making no attempt to hide her opposition.
"Are we that close? We've only just met, and you're already trying to get something for nothing?"
Her words were like knives, piercing Jill's heart.
Jill's expression turned somewhat grim.
She bit her lower lip, not immediately refuting.
As an elite member of STARS, she never complains about needing to be so humble.
Offering aid without compensation is certainly not in their style, but with all sorts of monsters lurking in this mansion, Jill understands which is more important: dignity or life.
"Nami," Zhou Ye said, his voice low but carrying an undeniable authority.
Nami turned to look at Zhou Ye, her eyes filled with dissatisfaction.
"Zhou Ye, this isn't fair!"
"Our resources didn't just fall from the sky!"
"We've given it to her, so what will we use?"
“Jill can be exchanged; it’s not a free transaction.”
Zhou Ye interrupted Nami.
Jill chimed in from the other side:
"Yes, I can make exchanges within my authority, as long as they do not violate the law and justice."
He turned to Jill, his expression calm.
